I didn't even see that dude creeping behind there...

I just brought it into photoshop and did some sharpening and zoomed in significantly. It looks like another nord, hes got a beard...it looks similar http://www.gamebanshee.com/morrowind/races/nordmale.jpg

Its similar in the sense that it hangs down on both sides with nothing in the middle. Its much shorter though.

Could you possibly post the zoomed in image so we can get a closer look as well?

The screens look amazing, with the exception of the grass in the mammoth shot. I am loving the mountains more every time I see a shot of them.

The figure in the distance seems to kind of have a "snout" of sorts when you consider the way his nose and mouth are shaped. Possibly an Argonian - ...

Good to see someone that confirms me...

vsions told that it is a nord

As one who lives near the mountains this is actually quite common to see snow in places and 40 yards away no snow at all. Usually depends on how sunlight hits it (melts it). This spring the snow on my lawn melted and my neighbors across the street still had a foot of snow on theirs.

hm okay, good to know. I'm a Floridian, so i don't have mountains or snow. However, i have gone north quite alot, mostly the new england area, when it's snowing.

It's okay if some places the snow is like that i guess, but still, I hope SOME places have to have a less immediate transition from grassy to snow. all and all, with your testimony, i think this screen is fine, but i hope its not ALWAYS like that.

Nice one thanks!
Now I can see that it is a bearded Nord with some iron armour.
Also take note of that armour. It doesn't seem to cover the arms like the fur armour. Does this mean we have piece armour again? Or maybe we can wear a shirt underneath?

I wonder who in the giant community is responsible for combing the mammoths hair like that every day. Must take one big comb and alot of mousse.

There are no shadows from the trees or rocks in the close background. That is easy to see. Especially with the trees.
Most likely explanation: shadows have a "view distance" as well, and that is pretty short, which we can see in this image.

Not that this bothers me that much. What would bother me more is how these shadows suddenly would pop up, which would be a huge immersion breaker. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I suspect your right, I considered that it might just be the lighting conditions, but I can see a shadow for the mammoth and the lighting on the background doesn't seem significantly different from the foreground so that doesn't explain it, and since the trees and rocks are some distance away from the player the idea that the shadows have a limited draw distance seems the most logical explanation, if that's the case, though, there's hopefully a slider to adjust it on the PC version, and it can go higher than the level it's set to on consoles, that at least is an aspect where I could actually see the PC version looking better than the console versions, if all settings are put to the highest.

I hope we're not getting you into trouble.

The Wrath of Zodd...

EDIT: The Trolls blend very well with the environment.
