There's no actual max. Using the Feather spell, or Fortify Strength, you can carry over 1,000 pounds of equipment and items.

The soft Strength cap is 100 though, which means 500pounds of equipment.

That guy in the inn looks like ... his left pauldron could be the same style at least as the nords pauldrons in the wallpaper there. Same shape and colours so... I am going to guess they are separate from the curiass. I can't wait for screens of the other races, concidering we haven't even seen half of them yet. No Bretonians, no Imperials, no official close ups of Elves... No Argonians. And I am assuming the guy in the first new screen is a Redguard so yeah we've only had four close ups so far.

I am excited though, they look great.

Yes, but it was shown only for a really small fraction of a second, and even if you could catch it, it wasn't very clear (even in HD).
