Hey all, I'm new to these forums, (Don't know if this would be the right forum for this idea too) and thought I would stop by and suggest something new for either the modding community or Bethesda themselves. As I was playing the game, I remember finding a dead body in the middle of nowhere, (can't remember the town either) and basically an idea popped into my brain. I always wondered who or what killed the person and if so, extend a player's adventure by investigating the person's body. With the Detective skill, your character has to interact with say a dead body, (it has to be a dead body found, not some body that your character saw die in a battle or something) and find specific details that can lead to a killer. It can be as in depth as finding bullet wounds, claw wounds, etc. Then taking it as far as taking a DNA sample and taking it to a local doctor or something. This skill can branch off as much as the player wants. For instance, if the body was found next to someone's home or if it's a body that's close to a character that the player knows, it can open up to a quest line/series. Then, to level up Detective, for each successful case solved, you can get, say X skill points for it. Finally, I would like to add that this skill has to combine with another like Science or Medicine, since it kind of shares similarities with the two, and when you level up Detective you gain maybe a small 1-3 point skill points you can spend on the other two skills.
Any thoughts? What do you guys think? Would this work in a Fallout setting?
