Umm I hope your joking... 'samey' is a common expression. Zany doesnt even make sense in a skyrim town... zany how? like waterslides and ice skating rings?
Not in Britain it isn't. Never heard of samey
You aren't serious are you?
What would you rather have: all the cities similar and bland :sadvaultboy: ... or all the cities zany and interesting :celebration:
The spirit panther and the puzzle pillars sounded pretty cool. I wonder what other spirit animals there are... probably a bear would be the only other one.
One journalist who played a PAX called it a spectral wolf so maybe that's what the "spirit panther" is?
I dunno about you guys, but just from watching the trailer, the cities looked different to me. Theres Whiterun in the big tundra plain and then theres Riften that looks like Lake town from the hobbit and of course that cool city with a harbor thats made on a stone arch. Dunno they seem different to me
He had 15 minutes to play and he obviously spent time underwater and in dungeons. Factor in loading times and he had no where enough time to travel to all 5 cities and properly explore enough to come to the "samey" conclusion. I do like how he said the top of the mountain with the heavy snowfall looked great.

Then my comment is null and void. Although I still don't think that's enough time to come to that conclusion. 5 cities at 5 minutes a piece takes up almost half of his play time. The other half was probably underwater which he said he did a lot of, dungeons, combat, and loading.
Yes he said he had it for an hour and used the carriage travel system to go to each city.....Though if he was also exploring caves, bodies of water etc. he must have only had a little bit of time to look at each city.

Since panthers have never been in a TES game and don't really fit the setting either I'm inclined to agree with you...
It's probably not a panther and just whatever Skyrim's version of the mountain lion is. I'd think it would be pretty hard to confuse a wolf for a cat like that, but I guess it's possible. The Dovahkiin hat must have been cutting off his peripheral vision.
He definitely said he had an hour to play and he said he used the carriage system to get from city to city.
For those who can't watch it now he said that he went to the main cities and that they all looked samey (zany?) which I guess means they were similar in appearance. He said that he found some sort of puzzle in a valley or something that consisted of spinning some pillars to unlock something. He went underwater a bunch, which apparently looked amazing and had much more content than in Oblivion. He also entered several caves and fought a necromancer which summoned some sort of spirit panther (spectral wolf?). He also described the caves and dungeons that he went into to be very different and described one of them as having trees inside with sunlight streaming in.
You're saying he had time to visit each city and explore them?....I don't think so....and where does it say the major cities aren't huge?
We know that the major cities aren't huge. The game is roughly the same size as Oblivion, it follows that, unless they're willing to drastically alter the scale, the cities will be roughly the same size as those in Oblivion.
Except for maby Markarth Side and Windhelm which is supposed to be the biggest city. Looking at Makarth Side in the trailer looks huge! Even the concept art of Markarth Side of the inside of the city looks big.

He couldn't have. 5 cities at 5 minutes a piece plus the loading would take up half of his hour. He said he spent a lot of time underwater, in dungeons and fighting plus other loading i'm sure. 5 minutes per city isn't enough.

Same size as Oblivion yes, "But more within the world." and since there are less cities and more time for them to be worked on and expanded to compensate.

Roughly the same size as Oblivion with 4 less cities pretty much ensures those 5 cities aren't small.
