New to Skyrim Help

Hello, I am new to Skyrim and RPG's and have a question about going backwards during your quests. Is there a way to go backwards to replay a portion of quests? I have problems with the Diplomatic Immunity quest and I get to the point where all I can do is die because I didn't give enough of my items to Malhorn or whatever his name is. If anyone could help a newbie I would be forever grateful as I really enjoy playing this game and would like to get better at it, thanks to all. Dunk8009

Just rush in Robbaz style. Some elven patients need their teeth seeing too.

In all seriousness, Skyrim gives you four seperate auto save slots. The only way to go back is to reload a previous save. Maybe you have one? Check your autosaves. Do you use magic? Try sneaking by them? It's possible I assure you. It may be difficult, but it's not impossible.

I believe that there's an old expression amongst RPGers, one which especially applies to TES.

"Save often, save a lot"

Yeah I feel your pain. I gave him nothing & went on to something else. When I continued on, I was defenseless. I used what ever magic I had & sneaking. After like 10-12 deaths I was finally able to kill the 1st elven guard & quickly loot him & put his stuff on & made it through running. Never came to me until later to also drop the difficulty down to easy.

I also did not have a save that was that close either. Because like I said i went on to other things 1st before continuing the mission.

good luck
