Nice. IGN also had a Skyrim ad on their Witcher 2 review lol.

I got some in Youtube too, they're going BIG with marketing, and the game is still 5 months away

My cousin went to the movies and said there was an Skyrim ad before the movie, and some people started clapping when it ended. Go Bethesda!

If I saw that trailer in the movies with a huge screen and surround sound I would struggle to stay in my seat.

And the rest of the factions. And armor. And SO MUCH MORE AHHH :shocking:

Yea, but I was just going my a lot of the early previews/interviews when Todd said they were working on mounts and spell combos, but wouldn't fully commit to it.

User-made Skyrim track, It starts slow, but it peaks up after a while.

Doesn't sound like Skyrim to me, but I did imagine walking around with this :D

On the topic on the amount of dialogue, I dissected both of the Oblivion voice BSAs and found that there was over 77,000 lines of dialogue...

I think I remember them promoting Oblivion with the fact that they had 40 000 lines of voiced dialog, is it possible you could have counted something which isn't voiced? because why would they underpromote themselves.

There were characters with the same dialogue (think about the rumors, beggars), so I think you can divide that by 2. Which nearly equals 37.000, being the official amount of dialogue.

I'd love to see you confront Pete Hines IRL, Red Shirt Guy style.

Out of curiosity, how many expansions do you have? I am sure that Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine added quite a bit of dialogue.

The Shivering Isles has a separate voice BSA that I did not dissect. I only checked the two Oblivion BSAs.

Actually, you're probably right.

DLCs have seperate BSAs for voices and everything else.

Still looking forward to seeing those screenshots. A few of them sound like the same old screenshots that have been around forever but perhaps from a different angle. Some sound completely new from the description though.

I hope the horses are done well and not simply thrown in to appease fans. It wasn't all that long ago that Todd sounded doubtful they'd be able to achieve anything as good as RDR.

They probably are.

I did some search to find out how many lines of dialouge Oblivion had.

This is the best, most credible, source I found:
http://uk.faqs.ign.com/articles/620/620559p1.html

"How big is the game world?

Oblivion is an expansive world with gameplay measured in the hundreds of hours
and not the tens. With more than 200 handcrafted dungeons, 1,000 non-player
characters, and 60,000 lines of spoken dialogue, the game play is essentially
endless."

So Skyrim has the same amount of dialouge as in Oblivion...

Do we know if the article specifically said that the Companions = Fighters? Or was that an assumption?

Fallout had 40.000, a world record. Beaten by New Vegas with 60.000 lines. That's what someone said, his son had the Guiness Book of World Records. And in some interview with Lampart (sound guy) they talked about 37.000 lines. So maybe we need Pete to clarify it.

Definitely not trusting an IGN FAQ on that. Plus, wasn't Oblivion said to have 60,000 lines before they made cuts? So maybe that's just information taken from before Oblivion actually came out.

Yes, for warriors, also confirmed separately by vsions who said that the group is called "The Companions"

Perhaps some influence from the "Brave Companions" gang of thugs from Game of Thrones, or maybe they will be more along the lines of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Companion_cavalry

When I hear "The Companions" I think there might be some interesting and cool new quests and back history.

when I hear "The Fighter's Guild" I think generic employment office that asks me to fetch 20 wolf pelts

All of this seems to be moot if we can't come to a unified decision on what we will consider a "line" of dialogue.

It was the official press sheet that I just linked. If you don't trust that, then that's your problem.
It also makes sense more dialouge was added after that official press release in late may in 2005.

What Mr. Tissue Box said about 77,000 lines of dialouge in the BSAs makes good sense then.
