You shouldn't give people false hope by saying they are new, they have been in every magazine.

What is picture number 8 in that list? It seems to be complaining about AdBlocker, but I don't run AdBlocker.

The "real" gamereactor (nordic) magazine is out today. I have no time to get it though. Studying for a test for tomorrow.

But I bet we'll see a thread very soon about "Gamereactor coverage!!".

Just wondering about othes peoples' thoughts about this... Kinda related to the topic.

I just checked http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOwzTYEvIWI. It's in a similar environmental setting, with a world twice as big as Oblivion/Skyrim (around 36 square miles), with great technology. It came out for Xbox 360 only in May 2010.
So I was wondering, do you think this looks better than... http://www.gamereactor.se/media/59/elderscrolls5_235967b.jpg ?

The video is in motion, but if you want screenshots of the game you can google them.

Alan Wake looks incredibly stunning I think. Much better than Skyrim's screenshot in the woods. I hope I'm wrong though...

-------------
The autumn trees look very very beautiful. I still think that the lighting just isn't right though. It needs some work/tweak in my honest opinion.

Bare in mind Alan Wake was cut into considerably small sections on release, hence on why it looks more richer and better... Also alot of the game takes place in the night so it doesn't look to good.. Skyrim looks much better.

Yeah, but it's an (Xbox) exclusive game, and those are much easier to optimise.

I love how you guys try to justify this...

First it was "They're just scans! Wait until higher resolution!"

Now it's "It's an earlier version! Wait until newer screenshots!"

Seriously. It looks marginally better than Oblivion, but not much more.

Especially after Gameinformer proclaimed that it "looks like the next generation but on your current consoles!"

It seems that it was delayed today too. Hopefully it'll come out tomorrow with some new info.

Clearest screens i've seen so far....thankyou :)
To those of you who say the graphics dont look that good....really?
I mean c'mon look at those screens, especially the dragon one.
It boggles the mind to think some of you dont think they are that good.
We've yet to see gamplay, and judging from those picture's it will look awesome.

The thing is until you get to try it out on your own system you can't really tell how the graphics look because nothing is moving in static screenshots. Once you add movement to the pictures everything changes and then and only then will we be able to see the differences between Oblivion and Skyrim.

As long as the gameplay is good I could give a flying dragon on how "Spuer Spleicil" the graphics are.
Getting real tired on how shallow other gamers are when it comes to games (not saying you are).

Well, the indoors look absolutely great to me. The exteriors not so much, but I think that the main reason is the lack of antiasing. In addittion, I'm sure it will look even better in videos.

They look good, don't get me wrong. But they don't look near as good as I expected (/wished) Skyrim to look. They don't look as good as other games tend to look. There just isn't a "Wow!" feeling. There's an "Ok, looks decent, kinda good" feeling.
I hope a gameplay video will prove me wrong.

For the most part I agree with you. The graphics are not overly amazing, and hardly what I would call "next gen"... and its unreasonable to expect them to be much better. Oblivion was built to run on the same 6 year old hardware that Skyrim is now built for... so the graphics can only get so much better. With that said, there are clear areas of improvement most notably in the lighting and character models. The environment graphics look almost identical to Oblivion, but the characters and the lighting looks much better.

In the end though, graphics don't mean much. I don't play graphics, I play games... and so long as the game is good its no big deal that the graphics aren't super amazing.
