what will your numbers be? I have no idea yet as we will obviously have to play the game in a very different way.

Not sure about the specials, but I will bypass all crafting until high level and focus on combat and protection.

I typically do more of a charisma and intelligence based build, but I think I'm going to focus mostly on strength and endurance, with a bit in perception too. Being able to carry more weight and hit shots more accurately will be far more important given no fast travel and ammo with a carry weight and so on. I'm still undecided though. I might completely change my mind. I'm itching to start a new character though. They need to hurry up with this new mode.

I don't see a need to. My current play through is using mods to give many of the options on the Survival Mode list. I randomly generated starting SPECIAL and what Perks I could choose at level up.

When I do a "real" play through, sometime after Far Harbor, I would chose from one of the typical archetypes I use.

I'm thinking of building a fat sleazy shyster type character. So, no combat skills whatsoever. Someone who looks like this.. http://www.nofrackingway.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/shale-shyster.jpeg

S 1

P 4

E 1

C 8

I 8

A 1

L 5

Perks I'll concentrate on.

Lockpick

Awareness

Cap Collector

Lady Killer

Local Leader

Inspirational

Hacking

Nerd Rage

Scrounger

Fortune Finder

Bloody Mess

Mysterious Stranger

Idiot Savant

Ricochet

I might switch around luck and intelligence stats.. haven't really decided yet. Depends on if I want him to be a successful shyster because of intelligence or dumb luck...

Oh, and his name will be Barry Alan Pincus.. (which is Barry Manilow's real name.. It just sounds so sleazy.)

I made myself a base character on XBO and maxed out my S.P.E.C.I.A.L by using dogmeat's duplication trick on the special book so whenever I start a new game I have a nice preset character. Cheating? Maybe (If one thinks you can cheat yourself, seeing as it usually take more then one person for cheating to exist). Do I care? NO. Because after maxing out my S.P.E.C.I.A.L and playing with this character and on Normal I might add, I still found myself dying a ridiculous amount of times in the game so it didn't really make the game to much easier. It wasn't until I started adding points to other perks that made the game really easy which then warranted me having to up the difficulty just for the game to be challenging like it was in the beginning.

Idiot Servant, Lone Wanderer, Rifleman, Gunslinger, Sneak perks will have to take priority.

Other than that... things can be flexible

I'm thinking of going Melee build to avoid having to carry ammo. Also makes crafting a lot easier.

Focus on stealth kills and vats crits when I'm spotted. Idiot Savant, blitz, and ninja early along with Big Leagues. I'll also be taking all of the luck perks from 5 though 10 for big (and frequent) critical hits in vats when I'm detected. I'll eventually get strength to 9 for rooted. I'll also side with the railroad for ballistic weave and deacon's companion perk.
