I finished building my new base over the weekend. It's 8 stories tall and huge. Tons of area to do pretty much anything and create a city in the sky feel.
Couple of points.
1. I wanted a concrete fortress with one access point so I went with a reverse pyramid.
2. Tried to be as realistic as possible. Plants get sunlight on the ground level, base is anchored with the 8 X 8 foot concrete slabs, etc.
3. Each level has a purpose. I was trying for a very open but organized floorplan. Level 1 is food, 2 is casual area, 3 is kitchen, 4 is crafting, 5 is the bar, 6 is for stores and outside gym area, 7 is barracks and power armor stations.
4. Not much furniture or items yet, some though! Wanted to get everything lined up and snap together. Took more time than I thought.
5. Tons of concrete and wood. I have not used any codes for items, to change the height or size limit. No console help at all.
6. Base is 8 stories tall and all 8 levels are being used.
7. After a few days of being there non-stop building and 6 or so raider attacks no one got in and they were all killed pretty quick trying to get in with the missile turrets. Their shots were all hitting the concrete walls.
8. One small entrance and everything is inside the fortress so no settlers need to leave.
9. So far every settler is using the beds, goes to their stores and crops during the day. I had to rework some stairs and access points to get it all flowing.
10. Hid all the wires and power so no generators in site or wires. Most lights and power is in place.
11. Moved the fast travel to the top level for easy access.
12. If they fix items falling through the floor I have been saving up everything and going after the "Untouched" versions of cameras, plates, sports equipment, phones and everything else. I'll place it all once they fix the issue.
Uploaded the images to Imugr. Take a look!
I have a long way to go setting up items and furniture. Once it gets complete I'll post more pics. I still have a long way to go before it is even close to finished.
Make sure to zoom in on the pics to see all the levels and all the way to the bottom. Had a blast doing it. Pain to get it all to line up and snap together, but fun!
