Probably just a stylistic change. Look at the difference between the altmer in Oblivion vs Skyrim.
We don't know till they release it and we look in to it...we know there's at least 2 strains of super mutant FEV so it could be possible there's a thrid made in Boston.
I think there might be multiple Super Mutant varieties present, and possibly a new strain. Some of them looked like Mariposa Super Mutants, and others looked more like Capitol Wasteland Super Mutants. We saw a new behemoth, which looked nothing like the CW behemoths, and we know that Mariposa Super Mutants don't experience the same growth.
They're likely just restyled CW Super Mutants, since that horrible yellow was, well, horrible. And the Behemoth show is just actually to scale now, not a ridiculously huge towering behemoth, that was disproportionate. Now they've actually made them scale to everything else, and gotten rid of that horrid neon yellow.
maybe both strains of super mutants meet and are mixing somehow.
The Super Mutants are the same, just restyled. There are no new variants of Super Mutants.
Same thing applies with Mirelurks and Mole Rats.
How? Take a look at them in the damn gameplay trailers and concept art.
Of course, that's why I didn't mention the Queen since she's new. I still wonder about the Kings though...
Looking at concept art and the gameplay trailers is literally not information. I'm sorry but you're coming off slightly stupid. Besides, you can find the E3 gameplay and screenshots on Google and YouTube.
oh i think they will show up for sure kings that is
Alright, genius, go http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1519038-get-the-latest-info-on-fallout-4/. I am disappointed that you did not even bother to go there for information when it is literally at the top of the Fallout 4 section. You are seriously coming off like an FEV reject by not assuming that, for example, a Mole Rat is still the same just but it's been revamped over the past 7 years.
You need to chill out, he said nothing that deserves the amount of vitriol you're throwing at him
Sadly, lots of forumers here have lots of vitriol and fire and brimstone lying inside them -w-' Eating too much preservatives and synthetic ingredients, perhaps?
Anyway, back on topic, although it's old, and lots of people has already pointed out, it seems there is a friendly companion super mutant in the trailer (in the part where you ride an elevator, if you slow the video down, there is a mutant riding the elevator beside you, shooting at other mutants). Just a little (and old) info, but it might hint that there are friendly Vault 87 super mutants again in FO4 like Fawkes...
Lets hope not, introducing a new type of supermutant each game is going to get old real quick.
They'd have to have gotten over their sterility to mix. I guess the eggheads at MIT could have figured it out but that would be a leap. Why would the institute with their androids even want to cure sterility in super mutants?
Yup, it's like speeding up your death. The West + East hybrid would have the chance to be as smart as some of the West mutants are, yet as brutal and strong as the East ones are, without the genetic defects that haunts some West mutants.
as in the both versions of FEV are being mixed in the same why you would mix ingredients.
I'm assuming they're re-styled Vault 87 strained dumb-dumbs. If not only because they've re-done the style on most everything else, I'm just going out on a limb they also re-designed super mutants rather than copy-past the models from Fallout 3.
The organ bags would certainly imply CW strain behavior. It is possible some human hating West Coast mutants moved out east and took on the characteristics of Vault 87 mutants out of a hatred of humanity as the coloring suggests West Coast strain. While one of the mutants is labeled Behemoth its not the same size as a Fallout 3 Behemoth.
My feeling is the yellow skin looked just to damn awful on current generation gaming platforms so they opted to recolor the east coast strain green.
