A New RP

I talked to a ghoul in the underworld, said people were up and out after a couple days. Fallout physics, different ours.

I'd hate to be a problem bearer, but, is three weeks long enough for radiation to clear.

As Yttrium said, it will work out.

Remember, it's just an RP. We're already making stuff up by having a movie theater on a plateau in some sort of desert in Kansas. We are more so just stretching the rules, not necessarily tearing them all apart, and building the Fallout universe from scratch.....

Don't worry, it's not about Bethesda. It's about another Fallout game for the Xbox..... :stare:

Yes, I'm sorry for even making the slightest reference to the abomination of a video game. But you get my point.

So, off to work! Get your Bios written! I have mine already prepared. And I will keep a check for a bit longer, then head off.

Now get crackin'! :toughninja:

Okey

Should we make like a sheet or just a few paragraphs about our characters?

Since i'm not THE boss, I would just say whatever you want. I did a sheet, but personality and Bio should be the most detailed. You will have to wait for me, Yttrium, and Jonas to finish the sign up work. Like said, Wednesday looks like when we will have the sign up.

And by the rate of posting we have, looks like this thread will be locked before wednesday.... :P

Indeed. Imagine the horrors if they didn't have rules and censorship, it'd be horrible! :P

One thing on my mind that's bugging me is the sign up. With there already three characters (Me, Jonas, and Yttrium), that leaves roughly only 3-5 more people. 5 being the near impossible. This sign up will feel like an audition, with us making choices on who's in and who's out.

Based on all the people we have had posting here, the sign ups will have more people than we can deal with.

It will be hard for me to say no to those who didn't make the cut...

Simon will probably be Jonas. Yttrium will end up being Randy, as the tiebreaker, and unfortunatly, despite all my manliness, I will end up being Paula or whatever the replacement is. :P

Of course, I can't say now, but something tells me you will probably end up getting in. Not including the other two opinions.

Jeez guys, I'm gone for two days and the thread is almost locked, I hope the rate of posts won't be this consistent during the RP or I'll be missing a hell of a lot because of school. :P

It would be entirely possible to leave the vaults at 14-15 weeks after the bombs because that's when all the fallout would have settled and the lethal radiation pushed away. We should keep that in mind. Also, I was under the impression that a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plateau was a very large, flat rock. Does that mean there'll be no Pre-War buildings there? I don't really like the idea of making a Megaton style town when there are perfectly good shelters when we emerged.

Also, are ragdolls allowed? Ragdolls are characters that don't belong to anyone and can be freely controlled by all, these could be people like our characters' family members or merchants. These are also good if one of our characters die, we can just take over a Ragdoll and carry on.

I'm diggin' the idea of Ragdolls. But only the controlling by everyone. I ain't too keen on controlling one if you main dies.

Do-do, just so you know RP's aren't necesarrily successful because of a small number of participants. It also helps to have people who are committed to doing the RP through thick and thin and a host that will stick with the idea the whole way through. I've been a good host (This is me talking, no need to agree) but most of my RP's have never finished. Why? Because I always kept making up new ideas for better RP's and I ditched the old one for a new one. As such, I've had... Two RP's finish at the most. Although I have had around 10 RP's overall... All were fun though.

So don't try and go for a small RP that you'll KNOW you'll finish. Aim high and if you don't finish it, oh well; just keep trying and having fun. That's all it's about, having fun and increasing your skills as a writer.

(Also make sure the people in the RP will post at least once everday, and if the Host has to go don't just close it down, pass it on to someone else until you get back)

My two cents.

Ciao,
Andy

I've been secretly plotting the destruction of the World with the Legion of the Dead, shh. ;) I might be back for a bit though, and if Jonas would take me I might see if I could write again... I'd love to keep it up a bit more than I do now. <_<

I can only help but wonder how long the Rp may last (As in threads, even). I know its far to early to even guess, but its so ambitious not to.

Well, depends on how long the group stays interested and active in it. If there are people who are engaged, and keep on playing, it could go on for some time. Not to mention almost each segment of the story could be about a thread long, and as people make lengthy developing posts.

Oh, and as a heads up, everything is going on schedule. You can expect to see the sign up pretty soon. :shifty:
