New to the Construction Set

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:15 am

Hello there.

I'm having a small problem regarding the Contruction Set.

I have changed alot of the interior of the Abandoned Shack in the Imperial Waterfront so that I'd be able to live there together with the two other npc's that live there.
Now the problem i'm having is that after a while my welcome has worn out. They will start asking me to leave. This is quite annoying.

I have already tried changing the ownership of the Interior but the ownership tab was already set on NONE.
I am a bit confused. Why then do these two npc's feel the need to act like they own the place?

I hope there is someone out there with an answer.

U would probably have to change the AI packages of the NPCs that are making the fuss in the construction set.

Find the NPCs in the object window and right click on them and choose edit to alter their characteristics. There is an "AI" tab at the bottom that will allow u to add and remove various packages from their AI inventory.

If they are quest dependent NPCs though, u might not want to change anything relating to them or it might ruin the quest they are involved with.

Right so AI packages you say? Will have to look into that then.

Thank you for your help

So I have tried changing the AI packages.

I removed something called "HouseOwner" sadly this did not solve the issue.

Do you have any other solutions?

Maybe try lowering the aggression. Don't lower it past 5 though. I think if u do the NPC then won't defend itself.

AI packages will have no effect on them asking you to leave, and you were right to look at the cell ownership. The two current inhabitants are members of the IC Citizens, and Waterfront Residents factions, but neither of those has any negative disposition effect (just positives to beggars and thieves guild). Hillod's in the Thieves Guild, but again that can only be a positive, if you're also a member.

Neither of them should believe they own the place, but since they don't, they may just have dialog to put on a pretense that they do. So you can just ignore it. Check the dialog for each and see if anything drops their disposition.

Yes I figured as much. They shall never do more than just ask me to leave. I can safely ignore them still it can be quite annoying having them follow me around all the time.

Do you think there is anything I can change at the dialog to make them leave me alone? or is there nothing I can do?

I have already tried changing the ownership of the Interior but the ownership tab was already set on NONE.

In the Owner NPC box use the drop down to scroll down and set it to Player. Make sure the Public Area flag is checked so the others can still use it too.
You can also edit the NPC's, go into their Dialogue box, highlight GREETING and remove all the dialogue associated with Crime.

I'm curious why you didn't just build your own house?

Oh Thanks. That should work then.

Well I did not build my own house because this mod was intended for my RP Thief. He was supposed to be quite poor at the start so he had no choice but to live with these other people. Bit like a homeless shelter.
