New to the world of Fallout

Sometimes mods conflict with each other and cause crashes, sometimes due to the load order or just because they do not work with each other. Sometimes its because the mod dose not work with your mod manager

I know a lot of people say use FOOK2, however I have found Fallout Mod Manager to be very usefull and a good number of mods out there are made for it.

Fallout Mod manager [FOMM] http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640

Bunker 72 Housing Mod, a very cool housing mod http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7455

Fallout 3 Re-Animated, changes and improves how you carry and use your weapon http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7670

I would suggest playing threw with the current set of weapons before getting weapon mods because many of them really dull the game out. What challenge is there when you can fire one shot from a pistol and drop a behemoth after hitting its leg?

Also keep an eye out for mods made by Crowbennett08 on Fallout 3 Nexus, they seem to be the better ones from my personal experiance, and a few other mod makers have given him shout outs for helping them in some way.

Go to the terminal, and select lockdown. You'll see the Nuka Cola poster slide up and reveal the weapons.

Since you do have Broken Steel(right?), just finish that first, if you can. It will make everything smooth. It wouldn't make much sense to just leave all the events happening, and come back a month later.

don't have broken steel yet, i am probably gonna get the GOTY edition for Christmas and if i buy broken steel now it would probably be a waste of money.

Oh, okay then. What I do is stop after The American Dream, aka, don't go turn in the quest. Once you do have Broken Steel, or want to finish the main quest(make sure to make a new save!), then you can go turn in the quest and start Take It Back!, which leads you right up to the ending of the vanilla main quest, and the beginning of the Broken Steel quest.

And...

Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch

Existence 2.0 (Radio/Quest mod. An extremely good one)
Hot Box (Making those Ice Cold Nuka Colas temperate again if you want to use the Quantum Chemist perk)
Ammo Sploders (Ammo explodes if you shoot at it or if it's caught in a blast. Mini Nuke Mines FTW (You drop a Mini Nuke and a mine at the same spot to "make" that)

Depends on your playstyle. Do you want someone to sneak along (Charon) or someone who charges in like a bus killing everything in sight (Fawkes)?

usually i just head straight into battle with my M4 or pistol. Not sure which one i would fall in, because i usually weaken their forces with my sniper.

If you haven't changed your game with MMM or FOOK2, then Charon would be a good choice. Fawkes will lay waste to everything before you can get a shot in. He's great help if you've modded in hordes of enemies but can be a bit overkill for the regular game.

Might be best to ask about installing Phalanx in its thread http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1057904&st=160&start=160. Someone there should know how to help. :)

Hey, at least you're organized! I scribble stuff down on a notepad and hope I can find it if I ever need it. I usually just look up codes and commands at http://fallout.wikia.com as I need them. :)

Nothing is wrong with being a nerd. Nerds rule!

I write down all console commands I need on a piece of paper, and then lose that piece of paper...

Edit:

Would you recommend adding named and rare items onto my supply list?

Any other good mods out there? Preferably ones that don't embed themselves into FOMM without me knowing it.
