5 New Things I would like to see in Skyrim

Post » Sat Mar 27, 2010 7:54 am

Her we go folks..I'm hoping =)

1. Dynamic Cities, Towns, Etc..
I would love to see Towns, Villages, Cities and Settlements dynamically dwindle or grow based on your characters action and the choices you make during a quest, plus the impacts of a dynamic economy.

2. I want Friends!!! lol =)
Part of Role Playing is creating a virtual life. I would love to see a better and more improved version of the companion mod in the game. Let us hire soldiers, have friends that join us because they believe in our approach to the world, have romantic companions...wives, mistress, girlfriends.... just make the whole social experience more real.

3. I want to be a capitalist!
It would be great to have the ability to build your own castle and homes directly in the game. Have an ingame exchange market where people can add different furniture, buildings, etc. that was created by other players. Where you pay with your game dollar coins. Be able to buy any building in the game, or take it over, but of course...it should be hard. So taking a house from someone requires to be up there in that town where the authority ignore you. Or get what you want from an honorable life of working, owning shops and hiring workers.

4. Faction Wars.
Would love to see dynamic faction turf wars where different factions fight for the same area, and your character can keep the balance or decide to favor one faction over the other. Be great to see a map to show what faction or house of rulers have the authority in different parts of the land. Of course, even have the ability to create peace treaties and alliances. All dynamically done so that each time a play through it, it would be very different.

5. Create Your Armor
It would be great that combining different elements and precious stones together you can create your own custom armor. Also creating dies from plants that you pick to mix and allow you to create different color armor. Maybe you can use "forms" in regards to how the shape of the armor is, but the texture, strengths, color, weight, etc. will depend on the elements and stones that are used.

I think this would be close to impossible to do right. Having each city/town able to expand based on your choices would require atleast two different stages of each city, meaning also extra dialogues for it's citizens ect ect... I don't see it happening.

Friends, yes, sure I like this idea a lot actually especially for the nordic setting. Walking into a tavern to get the latest update from your local informant/friend sounds great. Romantic interests, no, Elder scrolls is about your characters adventures, not his girlfriend, his wife or his children (I realize you didn't suggest children).

Big no and big yes at the same time. No I don't want to abillity to build my own little city, or take over entire cities and become some financial giant. However I would love the ability to customize your own house, aslong as it stays for your own house/tower/fortress only.

4. Faction Wars.

I'm not sure I'd like it displayed on a map, would make it too "gamish" I'd rather just have factions battling it out across the areas and you'd have to get a feel of who's winning where.

At first I was 50/50 on tihs, but considering how I could see this work ingame, I just don't see it.

Infernal, you are such a downer. lol =)

Just messing...

I know that would be a lot of work, and I'm raising the bar way up high. But at least some sort of this would be nice. Now, I may not agree with you 100% but I see your point.

However, the whole create your custom armor, I think it can work pretty well because the texture based on the element will make it look realistic. I mean, you can take Glass Armor, and you could use the same shape but is you use leather, it will look like leather but just in that shape.

That would be a little silly, there is a reason leather armor looks how it looks, and having a leather-textured glass armor would look extremely silly. Now before you think I'm a complete party pooper, I DO think we could have different variants of differnt materials, similar to how the guards in Morrowind had armor matching their house

You can have a lover in the game without focusing the whole game on the love story. It would be just a side detail, like buying and decorating houses. Some people need this feature for roleplaying purposes and I see no way it could break the game for anyone: those who don't like it don't use it.

Maybe if it's done like the witcher where you meet them whenever you happen to meet them sorta deal. *Shrug* I don't know I may have my ability to see this work since I automatically think of fable when I hear this kind of stuff and I really really don't like fable.
