New Todd Howard Interview with IGN

Yay! I hope so. (Because Havok isn't... the best...)

Did you even read the interview at all?
"We still use some middleware that we like, such as Havok. We're not just using their physics this time, but their animation system, Havok Behavior."

Many thanks Speccy... saves me so much time and effort which I don't have to search for Skyrim info myself (which I'd probably miss anyway)

Kudos

What physics system are they using?

I don't know, DMM maybe?

What else is there, really? And I'm serious, I don't know much about physics engines.

Edit: I'm glad they aren't using Havok physics, it's been looking pretty old for a few years now.

If you read the article, they are use the Havok physics engine AND the Havok behavior engine.

:blush2:

Oops! I must have skipped over the essential word, "just".

How embarrassing, thanks for pointing it out though.

I did not, I just read his comment and a few quoted lines. I just hope their animation system is better than the crappy one they have used in their past few games. We all know how those animations were. >.>

Dunmer.

Agreed, the proportions aren't very goblin-like. It's likely a Dunmer.

( and screw spell making who needs it we got 85 spell effects)

if they were spell EFFECTS like blind slow fall, damage Health Drain health etc etc then there would be spell making without a problem.

These are SPELLS not spell effects from what we've been told so far...

no no I mean spell effects as in you can use the spell in more than one way (flame throwing, fire ball, explosion, fire trap) not the lame ass old system from OB and MW :P

Dunmer.

Why is no one saying Draugr? That seems more likely to me considering that the wall in the background is the same as the wall in http://i55.tinypic.com/r1x20j.jpg.

Eh, maybe you're right. Skin textures look different.

Edit: IT IS MOST DEFINITELY A DUNMER

He just confirmed having main stats, that you level once per level up. I know some people were worried about Strength and stuff being taken out. Should calm some of their fears.

I'm pretty sure 'main stats' refers to Health, Magicka, and Stamina.

"We still use the nif file format, because it worked fine for what we're doing and our modders know it well"
How awesome is that? Making a design choice while having modders in mind? Somebody tell me again that PC gaming is dead.
