1. I believe they'll circumvent the different-cell problem. In fact the draw distance apparent paradox would indicatye they have. So I'm confident dragons will be able to swoop down on cities and burn them to the ground. Then again, scortching, perhaps?
2. The question one has to ask is this: Could they actually deliver a detailed open world with entirely open cities on the Xbox360 and PS3? Probably not. I also believe there is still some ambiguity in Todd's words that leaves room for some small hope.
Let's erect a barrage of tweet questions around Pete Hines so he eventually breaks down in exasperation and just sets the record straight on this bloody enigma!
Just one minor problem.
I don't own a Twitter account.

Don't own a twitter either
1. I hope you're right ^^.
When I pictured dragons before I had this picture in my mind: You're running through the woods near a city. Suddenly you hear a dragons roar nearby and hear people screaming. You get out of the woods and look at the city. The city is in flames, and a dragon is circling fast above it, breathing fire as it comes. You run towards the city to help. People are terrified; some are fleeing and some are hiding under the roofs of buildings in the city. They're pleading for your help.
If something like that could still happen even with cell seperation, somehow, then I'd be happy.
2.Yup, seems like that's the problem. But it could also be a problem of optimization. Things have gone really really far with optimization today. Oblivion for instance was incredibly horribly optimized. You notice this if you install mods like Better Cities and Really AEVWD. How much you can render depend largely on how well the renderer engine is optimized, but yeah of course it also depends on how many objects are being rendered. No matter how well optimized an engine is there is always a limit. I just thought that open cities could surpass that limit. There isn't really anything to do with it now though so I'll just say: I hoped and wished for open cities.
Other than that it was pretty good news I think. I'm a bit doubtful over mammoths and giants. Sounds a bit strange...
I imagined giants to be lonely and kind of sad and wondering about life... lol. Maybe that's just me ^^
Was definitely a good interview though. The thing I liked most of all though was when he talked about racial conflicts and the "wonder of discovery" from Morrowind.
