New Todd interview from German site

But if you saw an elf in chains you would most definitely stop and investigate kick them for being so weak. Besides.. someone has to do that grunt work for the Nords while they fight their civil war. Just sayin it is highly possible in my opinion.

Fixed. :) Yup I would like it aswell.

What, in terms of gameplay, can you do on the PC that you can't do on the Xbox360?

Climbing, levitation, spears, actual open cities, werewolves, attributes, classes, more npcs, better AI, A bigger game world, etc.

Just more stuff.

Oh how about faster load times, higher frame rates?

Consoles can't do werewolves or attributes or spears?

I don't really care that the cities are in a separate cell, but if I get in across the wall, it should load the cell instead of just glitching out.

Not counting Climbing, All up until "More NPC's" Had been done on a Console, the original Xbox to be exact. Not sure what that game was called, I think "Morrowind", but don't quote me on that.

Climbing itself is kind of an odd term. I can climb in Fallout 3, it just results in jumping up ledges. There's no reason a console can't simulate climbing animation though.

More NPC's is kind of a toss up, Assassin's Creed, Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV have quite a few NPCS, that said, NPC's aren't exactly gameplay.

Better AI, I've yet to see any conclusive evidence that console AI and PC AI are particularly different from one another, not in any discernible way at least.

Bigger Game World is technically a Graphical issue. You can't "Play" a larger game world. Simply having a larger game world bleeds into better gameplay itself, not an actual form of gameplay.

Faster Load Times: Not Gameplay, Higher Frame Rates: Depends on hardware, and still, not gameplay.

Try again.

No I was saying that the consoles are limited in the amount of content that is available on their discs. with a new console there would be room for things that they can't do now because of these limits.

Anything you can do in a game is game play so your rebuttal is flawed. But I don't mind.

[rubs eyes due to partial blindness]

Thanks for posting, seems bloody great. No issue with loading-cells, dont really mind after levitation is out. Only thing that worries me is that the direction of the game might be more action-oriented, despite involved elements like smithing and crafting.

Wanted to say something regarding the console-pc raging argument. Largely, I think the reason you don't see differences in AI between the two platforms is because algorithms can only be as complex as the console allows. Just imaging if minimum requirements would be any of the I7 processor lines and high-end cards like Nvidia GTX 400/500 series (insert any model you like), AND developers programmed to use those resources effectively.

No, it's really not, since Gameplay is a verb. You can't "Play" an NPC, you can't "Play" a Game world. You can engage in Dialog with NPC's and Explore a Game world. Do consoles limit content? Yes, do they limit Gameplay? No.

Slavery is still illegal in Tamriel except Morrowind (But I guess no more? :violin: ) but the empire is too busy trying to get it's own life save lately so I would still think that slavery is likely. What about slavery of Argonians and Khajiits?

I just want to point out that slavery was banned in Morrowind by King Hlaalu Helseth. Making slavery illegal in every province as far as we know as of Oblivion. That could obviously change in the second book, or Skyrim.

I'm not really bothered by larger cities requiring a loading screen, it just makes me wonder if levitation will be in. We know from the Infernal City that a member of the Synod re-discovered how to do it. Is it going to get lost again?

For those interested here is the quote in the book
"Apparently, no one has heard of levitation is at least a lifetime. However, Lazarum of the Synod apparently figured out a spell to do it. p.39"

Planes of Oblivion still in Skyrim? What?

He was saying that theres a feeling of accomplishment going to these alien worlds and getting these crazy artifacts. And that all the elder scrolls hve the history of the daedra and aedra so nothing is new about them. and some not all of them will be in Skyrim.

Great bit of info. The walled big cities wasn't surprising, at least Todd honestly told about it there.

Rabbits confirmed, hehe :).

It's going to be wabbit season, eheheh.

-racism of men vs. elves (and others, probably)

Great! But no mention of the beast races...Remains to be seen where they fit in there.
