Without a doubt the best interview that's come out in a long time. Very interesting to hear about the politics in Skyrim.

Is cooking real time? Menu based? And what did he mean by crafted stuff is better than diversion stuff?

You guys think too one dimensionally. Yes it's true that a spawn in the main worldspace could not attack the city but if bethesda wants dragons to attack the city they can spawn one in the city's worldspace. The dragon doesn't care that there is nothing outside the wall but ground he can still just fly in over the wall and attack.

I was speaking sarcastically dagon did attack so dragons should definitely be able to do it

wait a minuite dagon attacted in Oblivion, dragons attack in skyrim, so drragons will attack in ESVI

This is all looking good. I don't mind walled cities, I appreciate there are hardware limitations and did wonder how they were going to manage large cities not being in separate cells.

Giant camps eh? I did wonder about those gigantic items in the Imperial Palace Basemant in Oblivion (although I'm half expecting someone to come along and tell me I don't know my lore well enough, because they were obviously there because of x, y, and z  honestly though I don't mind, if there was a reason for it that I'm unaware of I'm happy to be educated!), but I do wonder if giant camps will have similarly oversize stuff?

ETA: And just because the cities are walled doesn't mean that dragons won't attack, just that it's more likely to be a scripted spawn at a certain point in the main quest or something.

As am I, especially when he referenced the Great Houses in Morrowind. But I hope more so, that it's a dynamic we can really explore as players in the same field. I loved playing the Hlaalu quest, especially because just about every quest could be resolved nonviolently. Redoran on the other hand, is very much the "Speak softly and carry a big stick" type of people. And Telvani were more interested in their own, personal goals, as individuals, more than the guild or the land.

Crafting actually has gameplay involved.

I like how stealth is actually possible this time. There is an awareness system. I like the eye slowly opening instead of fading in and out in Oblivion.

Anything involving a skill, which cooking doesn't.

I am sure I will happily spend hours and hours on these fun diversions - I think it's the aspect of the game I'm most excited about tbh. I always like to spend ages roleplaying an ordinary joe!

"custom" items than a cloned looking item, imo

Like a bottle of wine won't look like a bottle of ale, ect

So smithing is a skill. When he refers to crafting he's talking about smithing, right?

He said cooking is menu based. And what he meant was that diversion type crafting is only going to yield everyday stuff but skill based crafting will yield special items.

I'd imagine a "Suit of Daedric Mail" is much more interesting than "Piece of Mahogany Lumber"... wouldn't you?
