First of all, why does everyone call their character 'Toons'? Ive been playing these games, and been checking these forums since 2003, and ive only ever seen people refer to their characters as 'toons' after the release of skyrim. I think its kinda dumb to be honest.
But anyway, you pretty much figured out the cheapest skill training way. I remember once years back I got my mages unarmoured skill up by just sitting there letting a mudcrap attack me, and then heal when I was low on health. So theres another way I guess.
Also keep in mind, if you level up a single skill 10 times to get the level, you are sort of stunting your character's growth. because if you leveled acrobatics up 10 times, when you level you will have a x5 multiplyer for strength, and nothing else. So your character will get a decent strength, but if you keep following that pattern, you're gonna be a weak character for his level later in the game. ( I guess weak is the wrong word, cus he will be plently 'strong' haha, just his other attributes will be rather low)
So if you're gonna train to get some levels, I suggest trying to keep it even. So level acrobatics up 4 times, then level up some destruction or something 3 times, and then level up an armor skill or something 3 more times. So when you level up, you will get a x2 multiplier on willpower, a x2 on endurance, and a x3 on strength. (cus you got 3 attributes to increase on a level up)
Also try not to level up too much from training, you miss out a lot in the game. With some mage characters, ill usually do some magic training til im about level 4 or so, then I go out into the world and never train again.
