A New type of hack (weirdness in MP)

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 10:21 pm

I just wanted to know if there are new type of hack available.

I found this weird movement of opponent player when he was carrying unmounted heavy machine gun and he just vanished right in front of my eyes and appeared about 3 meters side from where he was standing.

I had decent ping (105ms), also the subject playe had about 150ms.
Server was not that much populated with hi pingers either.

and after that in the same round, I found someone else just teleported a little when he was carrying a shotgun and jumping and running around and I saw him teleported in the killcam.

I am not sure but these weird teleporting about 3-5 meters only happened with specific good ranking players (2 of them I saw, and their ping wasn't that high like 400 over to cause this much teleporting.)

Is it a possible new type of hack or just simple lag due to overload?

I was playing with around 60 FPS with very rare stuttering so, I am not sure.

105 ms is not a decent ping, neither is 150

if i have more than 90 i already see ppl teleporting all over the map,

like i get them out of stealth with a shot(jackal - should be a kill already), they dont die, instead they appear behind me somehow and melee kill me

105 is a decent ping, if the server has about 6 players... If the server has 16 players 105 isn't a decent ping... Btw. ping doesn't really prove anything, maybe it is just lagg

No its a speed hack, i saw it yesterday on a 1.9 server. the speed hack provides player to run like speedy gonzales. the game is not designed to show this speed of motion wich results in to low movement update wich gives the player leaps forward instead of frame by frame movement.

The higher the ping the bigger the leaps of a player that is cheating are. try to follow him. wait until you play a map you are assigned with him in your team and keep following him. install fraps and record it. put it on youtube and post the link to anti-cheat@crytek.com

They will ban him from crysis 2 MP when you provide good proof.

By the way, i have a ping of 100 ~ 150 in most servers all the time no matter the ammount of players, and the ping is good enough! i never see people leaping forward unless they are cheating. some good euro servers will give me 30 ping. but these servers are rare!

With an emplacement gun you are very slow, last night i played against a guy that run faster then me in speed mode with the big gun. that was on version 1.9 so allot have to be done to before this game is cheat free... atleast we can do something about it now!

Its only a speed hack if they are moving faster than you, sometimes teleporting is caused by high pings (over 300), poor connections resulting in packet loss or server side lag eg during a Ion lag strike. I don't think 1.9 added any new anti-cheat measures, though it was some time before they broke whatever 1.8 added. There was a good period of about 2 weeks with little to no cheating.

Well if a guy with emplacement gun runs slightly faster then you then he IS cheating. you are like a snail when you have that thing. even when holding shift you run slower then a walking player with a normal gun.

i agree on the anti cheat part. i mentioned 2 weeks of allmost no cheaters indeed. after that there were allot. only thing helping is banning ip, cdkey and hardware hash, so they wont ever be able to come back online.

I saw a guy the other day who was able to jump onto the Ticket Booth on Downed Bird whilst carrying a HMG. One second he was on the road and the next BAM he was on the roof.

Talking of MP weirdness, has anyone experienced being killed by their own actions. For example throwing a grenade (that does not go off anywhere near you) or doing an airstomp that instantly kills yourself.

no i havent. most of the weird things i have seen is that when there is a few seconds lag players are able to kill you more then once.

i did it myself a couple of times and must say its fun to kill others. its like this:

you kill a guy, the guy is not falling but stuck. when you keep bashing him, the damage you deal after he died will be taken to the next respawn killing him instantly again. you can make a triple kill by keep shooting him in the head and bashing him with the fist until he disapaers

Its a big bug and i dont really understand why its still in the game after 9 updates.

its pretty annoying by the way when you GET killed 3 times instantly after respawn... but its not a cheat its a big bug in the game

Yes, best thing you can do with orbital strike lag bug is to hide in secure place with cloak on...

I wish I had chance to silently follow them but I don't think I would face them much on servers from now on, if I get chance, I will try to follow them and frap their behaviors.

About pings, I rarely see these teleporting things actually even with ping of 234ms.
Even when I am playing on pings over 230ms I didn't get this teleportings at all times.

Not really from the first release till now, I didn't see anyone teleporting and suddenly reapearring 3- 5 meters away very conviniently when I tried to shoot them in the open. (yes they did teleported 4 meters away when I tried to shoot them in the open very conviniently.)

105 is a terrible ping for a twitch shooter. Most FPS games with dedicated servers have people playing on 30-40ms ping. Its not uncommon for FPS servers to auto kick people over 100.
