New Vault? (Spoiler Alert!)

Post » Tue Aug 17, 2010 6:44 am

In dev diary 4, show suit's with 34, is the Vault Tec 34 Suit's??

Many ammo and Weapons!!!

[quote]Vault 34 is one of the Vault-Tec Vaults. As part of the Vault Experiment, the armory was overstocked with weapons, and ammo and not provided with a lock. The location of this Vault is unknown. It is possible that this vault failed due to its inability to enforce weapon control or it may have traded its guns and ammo to outsiders for technology and food

In VaultWiki i find is "This Vault appears in Fallout: New Vegas."

If true, it is certainly a good explanation as to why there are so many more guns & weapons in the region as compared to the DC Wasteland.

Sound like it would have been traded/looted clean ages ago.... Another empty, messed up vault?

According to The Vault Wiki:

Vault 34 is equipped with virtual reality devices similar to Vault 112's tranquility loungers[

Interesting. The Arms Vault has a virtual reality thing going... Possible virtual gunfest incoming?

Hopefully they won't make the mistake of turning Vault 34 into an Operation Anchorage type DLC. :ahhh:

I'd hope that it weren't another empty vault filled with just enemies, but from the way it sounds, it seems that it might be the case. Aw well, no biggie.

The virtual reality systems sound interesting. I'd have to agree they might be for a side quest.....or main quest.....idk.

It looks more like the Boomers are set up in some sort of abandoned warehouse. Pause the developer diary around 2:28 and you'll see what I mean. High corrugated metal walls, large broken windows, and some meager tables and concrete barriers set up with the tranquility loungers against the wall.

I like the sound of this. Could be like a massive weapons market or something.

EDIT: Did no one else wonder why the vault inhabitants were all wearing trench coats and medals?

Would be kinda cool if we could find/buy/be rewarded with simulation programs for it, so that we can replay the simulations as much as we like and choose which one to play.
But the exp+ is disabled after completing a simulation just so one can't farm enormous amounts of exp from it.

(Was really pissed off that I couldn't enter O:A again after completion so if we can enter once we should be able to enter again.)
(The size of simulation programs of course vary.)

I'd love it to be up and running and be a kind of markety/VR haven, with Lord Fishy's idea implemented...

Medals may be something to do with the VR? Like for completion or something? The experiments are pretty crazy so maybe you get ranked based off performance in the VR (dangerous VR?) . Pure speculation of a very tired mind.

Whoa man. We agree on something completely.

Mind = blown :P

Good idea, though. I would have loved being able to re-program the O:A sim and doing something else. Woulda been a huge, glaring opportunity for some easy modding, one could simply put their new worldspaces in that simulator.

So Gun Runners are back, and it's a vault filled with weaponry. Perhaps those vault dwellers hate you because the Gun Runners want you to retrieve supplies for them.

Vault 34 is my dream... An overstocked armory with weapons/ammunition filled up to the brim? Talk about a frickin' field day for me can't wait to do some exploring in there. :tops:

This could actually be the sidequest. Say the NCR want to set up VR training with their troops and you help them figure out who to allow in the training VR simulations and who too work with and also who to market the weapons too. Or Mr. House or BOS may have use for the VR technology as well.

Also Red Caravan might play a hand in this as well.

Or as you say our own personal VR training area :)

:tops: Yes, i love that idea, then you can go from wasteland to like places all over, war fronts, Or just a classic town before the war to roleplay in, not tranquility!

I love finding and just having vaults. Not such a fan of the eerie and silent failed vaults. I hope this one contains something of the sorts of the Rivet City market where it's a major hub or buying ammo/weapons and you can rent a room there or get your own part of the vault....or just kill everyone and claim the whole thing as yours. Not sure about the virutal reality stuff though, but I do like the guys suggestion earlier.

I really really really really hope this isn't the jungle vault.
