New Vegas Appreciation Thread

Post » Mon Sep 20, 2010 7:24 am

Ok so I am tired of seeing so many negative threads on the forums about the game being either too buggy or no ability to play post game etc etc...

So I decided to make a thread where people can talk about how awesome the game is and what they really like about the game!

Here are only a few reasons on why I love New Vegas:

- hardcoe Mode
- Tougher Enemies (Such as the Deathclaws)
- Return of the Old Factions
- Survival Skill
- Higher priced items (Makes getting that reinforced Recon Armor all the better)
- Unique Characters and Companions

This is just a small portion of a very large list of why I love New Vegas!

Also, if you don't like not being able to play post game then you are obviously are new to the Fallout series and all I have to say is this...

Welcome to the true Fallout Experience baby!!! :fallout: :fallout: :fallout:

P.S. And don't expect any DLC like Broken Steel either :shifty:

my favorite part was (what seemed to me) the longer storyline, that was very involved and made you feel, unlike fallout three which was just "go find your dad! Yes it really matters, go find him!"

I definitely agree, I also like how there really was no black and white with the factions, unlike in FO3 where the BoS where the knights in shining armor and the Enclave were the obvious villains.

The only thing that I was even marginally disappointed with is the repetitiveness with the Main Quest for all the Factions...

Agreed, it is an excellent game. It really feels like a human worked on every little part of it, ensuring it felt right. It is a HUGE game too, really surprising given the time they worked on it.

Love this game so much! Side quests are very well done this time around. I liked side quests in FO3....I like these even more. Faction polictics, aim down sights, hardcoe mode....you name it this ones got it.

Only gripe, too many buildings that are not open for exploration.

This game is going to drain so many hours from me.

Welcome to the True Fallout Experience
I wouldn't go that far, but I really really like the game, and I've not even played past Primm.

So far no gripes... Well... Small gripe...
When asked to shoot bottles off the fence in the tutorial, I of course when right into VATS, but alas the bottles were not implemented as target-able. :(

I appreciate Fallout Series for always stealing my money and making me hate it and love it. It's a Hate/Love relationship... you can't say that about many games, it's always you just hate it or you just love it. Thanks Dev's... you guys are masters at mind controlling!

I love the jam-packed amount of new content, new exp distribution, and new quests. Makes F3 look like a demo by comparison.

Edit: Also love how they fixed long range accuracy. Snipping was too messed up in F3, even with
Spoiler
The Reservist's Rifle.

Uh, there's just too much to love in New Vegas, so I'm not going to bother coming up with a list of what I love because I basically love almost everything about it.

New Vegas is probably the closest we'll get to a traditional Fallout game. I don't imagine Bethesda will be able to top this at all with Fallout 4, unless they get Obsidian to write the story and make the gameplay mechanics for it.

I really had the urge to as well, but I really wanted to try out the iron sights and see how they were. svcks that they weren't target-able. Imagine the awesomeness of destroying Sunset Sarsaparilla bottles in SLOW MOTION.

I love the tougher enemies. In fallout 3 everything was too easy to kill but in this game stuff is much harder or it at least has more hp. I also love the upgraded companions.

I love :fallout: NV

I love the game for putting the choices in the hands of the player, like a Fallout game should. Whether it be the choice of which factions to support, or the excellent skill choices... It constantly feels like the game is asking me how *I* want to do things and rewarding me for finding solutions.

I really like the enhanced role playing aspect (as people have mentioned: all the factions and the better character building) also all the weapons feel and work better than in fallout 3. Aiming down sights is a blessing and sniping actually works now indeed. In fallout 3 you shots would simply miss if you were shooting from too far away.

I couldn't tell you why, but I just plain like it. It's fun. It's the most fun I've ever had with a PC, and I doubt it's going to be topped anytime soon.

i'm about 27 hrs into my game, and if i had to give it a grade i'd give it an A-

i love the atmosphere the desolate desert, good loot is somewhat hard to come by on the other hand caps are easily made, love hardcoe mode, ammo crafting, rep system, although the karma system is way to unbalanced, i love how you need to avoid certain areas till you level up and you can encounter deathclaws and tough enemies early, iron sights (need i say more), thumbs up to obsidian for making an awesome game that i will be playing for years!!!!! :icecream:

1 hardcoe mode

2. weapon mods

3. more than one linear ending so I can play one time as good guy and next time as evil bad guy and get a truly different ending

4 . the ability to dress as an enemy and walk past unseen

These are some of the things I asked for a year ago after fallout 3 thank you for listening

hardcoe Mode
Better enemies
Great atmosphere
Emphasis on using your brains in combat rather than having you believe you're Duke Nukem's grandson
Interesting storyline with more than one WTF moment
Weapon mods
Expanded Crafting
Faction system

...and the overall sense than I'm REALLY crafting the story here, which is, for me, PRICELESS.
