New Vegas Bounties III
A quest mod by Someguy2000 and the NVBIII Team
General Description:
With the Mojave Wasteland purged of its most dangerous elements, the Courier is soon contacted by a mysterious figure, setting in motion a chain of events that will take the player to a new worldspace, confronted with his/her most ruthless foe to date. New Vegas Bounties III is the final installment in the bounty hunting series, and picks up immediately after its predecessor.

FAQ's:
Q: Didn't you "retire"?
A: Yeah, but I un-retired... like Brett Favre? Probably not the best anology. George Foreman might be more apt. Anyway, I'm back for at least one more rodeo.
Q: Is The Siege of Firebase Zulu dead?
A: Yes, it's dead as dead can be, folks. It was simply too much for both me and the engine. Besides, this project has always been gnawing at my conscience. If I finish NVBIII, I can leave New Vegas guilt-free.
Q: Does this line up with foreshadowing in your other mods, or will you retcon the living [censored] out of old mods?
A: There is only one item I might omit,
Q: Will [insert hated character from past mod] show up so I can kill/interrogate/maim/scold him/her?
A: I had two over-arching goals when I approached the script last month. First - make it manageable in scope, like The Inheritance or Russell. Second - tie up every damn loose end from all my quest mods. The current script will satisfy both those demands.
Q: Is it companion-friendly?
A: You can bring companions along for the first act, but they cannot travel to Utah. This even applies to Russell.
Q: How linear is this mod?
A: The narrative is tightly scripted, so it will be more linear than some of the content in The Inheritance or Russell. However, I will provide outlets for roleplaying in dialogue options and a few sidequests and unmarked quests.
Q: Is this more like NVBI or NVBII?
A: One of the primary quests is largely inspired by NVBI, and there are no posters to speak of (some will rejoice, I'm sure). As a whole, I tried to mimic the structure of NVBI while taking steps to improve the dialogue options and overall polish. NVBII is an endless, sandbox-themed plugin (which could still get content after NVBIII), but NVBIII centers on a specific narrative. As such, it will have a linear quality to it.
Q: Will I have to finish NVBI and/or NVBII to play it.
A: No, I'll include an optional, standalone .esp, as the current one for NVBII has been well-received. I understand not everyone enjoys NVBI and/or NVBII, so I still want to give them the opportunity to enjoy new quest content. However, the main file will be linked to NVBI and NVBII. It does not require The Inheritance or Russell, though choices from those plugins will have consequences in NVBIII.
Q: What's the new worldspace?
A: The Deep Creek Mountains in Utah. It's cold. The landscape and flora are in place, so the tedium of navmesh is now underway.
Q: Some of the foreshadowing in Russell seemingly points to supernatural themes. Will anything otherworldly show up?
A: No, absolutely not. That was just my attempt to capture the sense of myth that surrounds events in the wasteland, much like Dead Money NPC's foreshadowing the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_of_the_Divide.
Q: What's the ETA?
A: When it's done, though it shouldn't be an inordinate amount of time. You know me... 3-6 months is the norm for the projects I actually finish. I want to release a polished product, though. Russell was probably published too early, for example.
Q: What are the teammates contributing?
A: BlooperReel is crafting a number of intricate, highly-detailed dungeons that will complement gameplay (as I'm a subpar level designer), and Dragbody is performing a gogoplata on Blender in order to force out some wintry attire. Quetzlsacatanango reviews my outlines and lets me know if I've gone off the deep end. They're exceptionally talented and I'm happy to have them on board.
Q: How is this mod similar or different from past mods?
A: It will have an opening and closing slideshow, like Russell (I WILL SPEED IT UP, AS GOD AS MY WITNESS!). There will be a number of dialogue options, as in The Inheritance, and you will have opportunities to kill people for money, repeatedly, as in both NVBI and NVBII. It should be slightly longer than The Inheritance, with the sidequests included (NVBIII doesn't have many sidequests).
Q: Will I die, like it says in Russell?
A: Only if you let yourself die. But no, the story does not include your death.
Q: How difficult is this mod?
A: The boss fights will be tightly scripted and designed to challenge the player in a variety of ways, preferably with styles and techniques unique to each boss. There will be ambushes, but none of that pre-1.3 NVBII bulls*** where outlaws appear like rabid archangels out of thin air. I'm focusing on a few memorable fights, not putting the player through the Battle of the Somme (where rabid archangels were liberally employed).
Q: Will this be compatible with [insert one of a bajillion Nexus mods]?
A: No idea. We'll find out in beta testing and go from there.
Q: Are you recruiting?
A: Eh, not really. Most roles are filled. This mod is not a sprawling dlc monstrosity like the mod of which we don't speak, but is a more focused affair. EXCEPTION: If you know how to produce a functional, 2d world map and make it presentable in the GECK, please PM me. It's on my to-do list, and I'm not looking forward to it.
Q: WILL THIS MOD BLOW MY MIND? IT'S THE FINAL CHAPTER, SO DON'T [censored] UP! No pressure, love the mods!
A: I haven't cast my daughter, and it doesn't involve a contrived romance between first cousins, so it has that going for it. I'm actually taking a lot of inspiration from the wealth of successful, final installments to trilogies, like Alien3, Star Trek III, Superman III, Terminator III... excellence is assured!
Q: Aren't you forgetting some painfully obvious inquiry?
A: Undoubtedly, but I'm too drunk to ponder every possibility. Post your question in this thread and I'll get to it. If other souls join the chorus of query, I'll make a new entry in the FAQ's.
