New Vegas confirmed to have an ending that ends the game

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2010 10:31 pm

It has finally been confirmed. I can't believe it, they are ripping us off again. I want to be able to play through the whole game without having to pay extra money.

Why all the damn complaining?

Reload a save. Now you know there is a definite ending. I, for one, like this.

Mad - I don't want to pay to be able to play the game.

Really, now?

Yeah it svcks. But TBH I didn't mind paying for the dlcs for FO3, they were pretty solid as far as dlcs go and actually added new content and put you in interesting situations that wouldn't normally happen throughout the game. Compared to the majority of the dlcs out there today that seem to be adding stuff that should have been in the game upon release or that are asking for an completely unreasonable amount of money for some [censored] dlc *COUGH* MW2 *COUGH*.

Yeah but the fact is that we can't process through the main quest meaning we might miss something. I don't want to miss the ending just so I can't play. It's a definite rip-off. I hope some mod comes out that let's us play still, but then you still have the console players and that's where most of the sales come from.

Am I weird for not caring either way? As long as it's cool it doesn't really matter to me.

No, not really. I kind of feel the same, but I still realize this as a money scheme.

Don't progress far into the main quest until you are ready? The whole point of a sandbox game is to explore the world.

Besides, we don't even know how the game will end. The game ending could make the most sense depending on how the storyline ends.

Right, because writers cannot end a story with a definite ending without it being a money scheme.

I will only like it if the ending is definite. If my character somehow survives or whatever I shouldn't have to reload the save or anything. Make it a justifiable reason to say "OK this character is done NEXT."

Because its likely just a money scam.It kills roleplay opportunities.I am hoping this just means one of the possible endings ends it and there is not one definite end.An RPG is supposed to have options and be open not confine you.How would it hurt to just to include an ending less end to the main quest.

I'll still buy the game but I'm definitely not happy about this development.

Things from Wikia's I take with a grain of salt. And if this is true...well, I'm not opposed to it, just as long as the journey is a good one.

Meh, The game never ends for me anyway because I never complete the main quest so it's no sweat off of my brow. Now I know lots of people are in it solely for the main quest and aren't into sandboxing but it shouldn't matter to those individuals. It's the ones that like to do both that always complain about the game ending and those individuals should embrace the re-playability and start a new character.

All in all it doesn't really matter because the game is not linear.

Agreed. I believe it is definitive, can't really tell from the news post.

Oh, then, unless it's from the lips of a developer, I call it speculation.

It's not that but how they want us to pay so we can still continue it. Though no DLC has been confirmed for letting you continue the game I still think it's going to happen, it has to happen.

Becuse it kills RP value. What if my character does not die or set off into the wastes.Oh yea I could reload but what if something major happens at the end like the New Vegas strip being destroyed. Its just plain dumb. There should be multiple ending depending on how you play.

Why don't you trust the wikia? I mean this news is even from Ausir, there's no way he would let speculation be an official news post.

Edit: And yes it's from a developer. Larry Liberty. Epic name...

I'm sure the guy can be sited as a credible source, but as I said, the only source I'll take 100% faith in is the developer. It's the internet, and information can be fabricated.

That is why you don't beat the main quest... Do everything else you feel is necessary first.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

It better be a good ending. At least those of us on the PC have the chance of end-removing mods. Sorry for my console friends, though :[
