New Vegas or Fallout 3

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 3:50 pm

New Vegas is my choice, more dynamic story is more important to me than the dynamic world of Fallout 3. If Fallout 4 can do both in quality and quantity, well then, I'd suspect that BGS and Obsidian worked together.

From reading peoples posts, compiling the opinions and adding my own.. this seems to be the best course of action. Its like a super team. Thinking about it, they would be MAD not to combine their efforts!

I need to go play Fallout 3 again, I may after I hit the max level for BF3 and play some Skyrim. Maybe by then F4 will be out, or Metro Last Light. I think that Fallout 3 being Bethesda's first attempt at Fallout was good, it's not going to be the best one that they make but it's a beginning.

hi i am new here and i have played all fallout series and recently i am starting new vegas.

if you played previous FO′s games in the moment you start playing and exploring u really feel like in fo 1 and 2 cus the music, about changes feral ghouls are now more agressive you really feel scared with the new music cus in FO 3 ghouls are a joke sometimes you might feel you are killing a crapy and old man even they look sad and they are easy to kill no matter ur lvl except those super ghouls of the dlc′s.

The new DT is more realistic cus u can feel safety cus all the hits under ur DR cause no damage wich was great but about fo3 if u got the snowed tb51 power armor even a bunch of raiders with pistols of 10 dmg can hurt you, well even with the chinese pistol lol thats why i liked more the new system of new vegas cus it is more like old games.

About the history each game has something new, actually the most important fact is the post apocaliptic universe cus fo3 imo is not the best history and new vegas is like playing on new reno xd i read like 3000 coments about ppl hating fo3 and new vegas but well fo3 and NV was the dream i was specting since i was a kid.

best fallout series was fallout 2 cus it surpassed fo1, new vegas has a better game system and even more realistic with hardcoe cus it is all i was waiting for .
instead of planning fo 4 i′d like a fo1 and 2 remake with new graphics and new settings without changing the main history but i think this would be impossible as the fo2 intro says "the reason human pure ones".

I know the cuban missile crisis never happened, but the tactic is sound.

First, I highly doubt USSR and China just going to give nukes away. Sell, but in the fo economy who could afford?

Haha, China of course. There economy right now is booming. Unlike some places... And in that time period. They would or did. Can't remember.

America wanted to put nuclear missiles in Canada during the cold war but for some reason we said no.

And I'm glad we did!

I would like to add in. They did build many Radar station in northern Canada. Because the U.S feared of an attack up north.

They built radar stations in the North because Canada and the United States formed a little thing called NORAD: North American Aerospace Defense Command.

I wish we had some nukes, not like USSR didn't put nuclear missiles in their northern areas.

The point of bringing that up was that America was willing to give allies nuclear weapons during the cold war. So I see no reason why they wouldn't do the same in the Fallout timeline. Same goes for China and USSR.

I think Canada just bought a bunch of garbage submarines that are around 20 years old. I think all that money should have gone toward at least one nuclear submarine.

America wanted to give Canada nuclear weapons in the late 1950s.. Canada did not waste money on buying second hand diesel subs from Britain until sometime in the early 1990s.

To test the premise in my own mind, I've started a replay of FO3 after many months since last completing the game.

It really does feel more like a world gone to hell. No FONV Sunny Skies and goofy "hip cat" mumbo jumbo.

IMO,FO3 Just has the right look and feel for a post apocalyptic setting. Do admit FONV has better variety in terms of endings, weapon upgrades..etc.

This time I decided to detonate the Nuke in Megaton.

Couldn't help feeling like a low-life watching from Tenpenny Tower as that mushroom cloud exploded over the site.

Gotta remind myself.

"It's just a game. It's just a game"

Fallout 3 was a far better video game.

Great characters
Great Music
Great Story
Great Quests
Great atmosphere
Great Ending
Great Location

New Vegas was a pretty poor video game by any standards. It had zero atmosphere, terrible characters, awful story. They actually managed to release a game with way more bugs than Fallout 3. And it lost out in nearly every review comparision of the two games.

So if Fallout 3's endings were so great why did the (Bethesda) fans run crying to Bethesda to remove it?

Also we have companions, such as a Ghoul a Robot and a large super mutant. All would be fine with radiation, yet they will not go into the radiation filled room for you to turn on project purtity.

Atmosphere was inconsistent with all the other Fallout games.

I personally liked the game-play and reputation system of New Vegas, but I liked the story-line of Fallout 3. New Vegas really didn't have a story-line, it was just a bunch of fighting between rival factions over certain locations. Not to say that's bad, but Fallout 3 actually had a better, more precise story-line. It also had more shockers. The John Henry Eden one still haunts me to this day.

Overall, I guess New Vegas is better. It's more easier to adapt to it and it's more based on the player's decisions than Fallout 3. But Fallout 3 felt like it had more work put into it, at least story wise.

I think Fallout 3 is much better. To me it just seemed like New Vegas' story wasn't as well thought out, and somehow I feel like the graphics aren't as good or it isn't detailed enough or something. I do like the customizable weapons though, and it has alot more side quests.
