New Vegas freezing Randomly.

Post » Tue Aug 07, 2012 1:25 am

I had this same issue with Fallout 3 and it was an easy fix to complete, but I cant remember how I did it.

The issue that im having is that the game likes to freeze up randomly without any warning, no error screen, no nothing.
A friend once told me that it was because I was using high graphics, and the memory needed was too much or something like that, I cant remember the exact wording.

I remember that I had to change a line of the coding inside of notepad and it fixed the issue I was having in Fallout 3.

Anyway, I was wondering if someone could tell me the fix to this issue, also, I apologize if this has been asked before, and if so, could someone kindly send me the link to the thread with the answer.

Not enough information, sorry.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1122570-how-to-dxdiag/

You need to include all of the usual diagnostic information. Start by searching for that same topic and taking note of what the members ask each other to provide here for information, or go to the Official Support instead, and that may suit you better.

Not...enough...what?

The game freezes. No error messages. No "The game has stopped working" box popping up, nothing.

The game just freezes. I can still Alt Control Delete out of it and close it manually, but other than that, nothing comes up.

Also, next time, when you tell someone "You need to include all of the usual diagnostic information" actually tell the person how to get that info please.

If someone could tell me how to shrink that down, that would also be helpful.

Also, there was a point where my friend told me to edit some sort of .ini to make the freezing stop or something.
