Yea Hoover Dam! LOL http://pics4.city-data.com/cpicc/cfiles5449.jpg

Wow, Nelson Nevada looks like it's part of the Fallout Universe http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/907898-Nelson-Nevada-4

OH look what I found! Some Fallout fan actually took a tour of the places and compared real photos with screenshots! http://elbloggodemango.blogspot.com/2011/05/fallout-new-vegas-fans-tour-of-duty.html

For some reason I never realized at first that all the places in game were actual real towns! I looked at a map and was amazed to see that there is really a Primm or Goodsprings etc lol

@Longknife: Excellent pictures! I didn't know Helios One was a real place, too! :)

Basically every location in the game is real.

Of course, but I meant the resemblances are impressive. I wanna see more like the ones I showed. They followed the real life Mojave to the letter...

When I first heard of the game, I thought of http://www.google.com/imgres?q=las+vegas&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&biw=1280&bih=856&tbm=isch&tbnid=IdQJdKtzpG4mvM:&imgrefurl=http://www.luckylimolv.com/&docid=I4MAHksIR6cuMM&imgurl=http://www.luckylimolv.com/Portals/0/lasvegas-boulevard_2170_600x450.jpg&w=600&h=450&ei=YoOpT_ScHbC20QGBya27BQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=868&vpy=347&dur=78&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=104&ty=113&sig=113017159664975693665&page=1&tbnh=145&tbnw=203&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:0,i:170, but then we got http://www.google.com/imgres?q=new+vegas&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&biw=1280&bih=856&tbm=isch&tbnid=Qrve47YGRQduWM:&imgrefurl=http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/File:NewVegas.png&docid=MNhu9H5brS6MWM&imgurl=http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111023172215/fallout/images/a/a9/NewVegas.png&w=1280&h=726&ei=wIOpT5vEN4je0gGXpIiLBQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=787&vpy=293&dur=453&hovh=169&hovw=298&tx=138&ty=98&sig=113017159664975693665&page=1&tbnh=142&tbnw=191&start=0&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:18,s:0,i:140, then I became sad... :sadvaultboy:

I, at first, was hopeful (and perhaps foolishly so) enough to think we'd get "nodes" one of which would've been the strip packed full of content (each faction having a strong presentation there, castled in the casinos, scheming under House's rule) and vista points where we'd be able to see the, possibly smoking to indicate there are people there too even if we couldn't get there, ruins of Vegas span towards the horizon. Needles to say I, too, was a bit disappointed with the reality - but what can one do with too high hopes.

I'm pretty sure this is Zion, but it might be some other part of Utah, or it could be the Grand Canyon: http://diogenes-lamp.info/images/utah_trip/utah_trip066.jpg
Change the number in the URL bar for more. It's from JE Sawyer's trip around the Mojave and surrounding areas.

Yeah, made a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1366971-touring-the-mojave-in-real-life/ about this British dude who toured the Mojave a while back. Pretty awesome to find out that locations like Goodsprings and the Devil's Throat were real.
