New Vegas Plot Holes

Post » Fri Aug 10, 2012 9:31 am

So, we have topic for FO3, so why not discuss the plot holes in New Vegas. Its probably a shorter topic, but perhaps some questions will be answered. For example:

-The NCR has vertibirds, why not bomb the Legion's fort?

- Just what is the timeline for vault 34?

- How did the vault 19 powder gangers get past the supermutants/deathclaws?

- How does the BoS get food?

- Why does Caesar tell even the most anti-Legion Courier to go alone and unobserved to destroy the Securitrons under the Fort?

1.They could get shot down.
2. Someone else can get that
3. Powder gangers stole the dynamite of their way north, deathclaws moved in after.
4. Ask Veronica
5. You're in Caesar's fort, you better do what he says.
Also something about not wanting the Legion to see an army of robots.

The reason the BoS gets food is Veronica. Procurement is where she gets food for them outside. If Veronica leaves they probably would send someone else.

The Legion liked my Courier. The reason he let's you do it is because you get results. He likes that.

At Sloan they say that the Deathclaws just barely came in a few days or weeks. The powder gangers broke out a few weeks ago. That gave them time to get to the Vault before the deathclaws came.

The NCR has one vertibird and that is Bear Force One which is Kimball's personal one and they would think it is too dangerous to let him do that. Also he's a coward and wouldn't agree to it. And let's say someone suggested not to have the president in there and go on a suicide run the President would cry cause he's too lazy to walk like the rest of us. Also the NCR is comprised of idiots.

Pre-War trucks had radiation stuff in them. The people who became the boomers broke out. The radiation leaked into the vault and the boomers were already at or near Nellis

:lmao: Not surprised this happened. Anyway

-The NCR has vertibirds, why not bomb the Legion's fort?

You see one that is the president's personal transport. I doubt NCR has an air force. The ones they have they have took over from Eclave bases, so the number and the supplies to keep them running may be quite limited.

- Just what is the timeline for vault 34?

Now that is a good question. That whole thing makes no sense. But because it doesn't, i can always think of the message as years if not decades old and the people long gone, and go ahead and make the decision for the greater good :hehe:

- How did the vault 19 powder gangers get past the supermutants/deathclaws?

Maybe they moved trough before the Deathclaws took over the quarry?

- How does the BoS get food?

Veronica mentions she's gathering supplies for them, and that she's not the only one to do so. Also theose "hulking figures in the night" may be raiding for supplies too.

- Why does Caesar tell even the most anti-Legion Courier to go alone and unobserved to destroy the Securitrons under the Fort?

Someone explained this once, that he didn't want to see his men to see what's down there for some reason. I don't remember excatly how it went.

The whole story is about Hoover Dam and it's power, yet all powerlines are down. Also NCR supposedly uses trains to move the concrete from Quarry Junction to Boulder, yet the train tracks are covered in sand in many places.

Probably because letting your army know or at-least think that they could win the war without the risk of their friends, family or themselves getting killed isn't the best idea if you want high morale and it may cause people to question your leadership skills.

1. We only see one NCR Vertibird. Bombing the Fort wouldn't do much good, the Legion would just go under ground. Vertibirds aren't bombers. They could get shot down.

2. The Boomers wanted to leave Vault 34 because they weren't allowed to use any of the big weapons. So they left, the Boomer's own history doesn't even mention any riots. They simply left the Vault 34 ===> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uolTg27k7dc&list=UUg2D1zReyIvlUb3nxHtWe3g&index=4&feature=plcp

Chris Haversam at Repconn came from Vault 34. He describes the events of what happened to the Vault as resent events.

Jason Bright tells us Chris Haversam was only with the Ghouls at Repconn for only TWO YEARS. Proof (3:56)===> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGuJONOEetE&list=UUg2D1zReyIvlUb3nxHtWe3g&index=3&feature=plcp

So this clearly tells us that what happened to Vault 34 was long after the Boomers leaving the Vault.

Vault 19 has a secret entrance and exit. So does Vault 87. This tells us that some Vaults have more than one entrance/exit. Proof of this ===> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fmqnoNm-N0&list=UUg2D1zReyIvlUb3nxHtWe3g&index=2&feature=plcp Now why do I bring this up? Because Vault 34 also has an unknown exit. How do I know this? Because of the people trapped inside Vault 34. You have the option to save them an doom the sharecroppers, or save the sharecroppers and doom the trapped family.

If you save the family they exit the Vault through an unknown means, but they don't leave through the entrance. Also if you notice that Chris Haversam left the Vault 34 before things went to hell. But how did he leave if the Overseer had the door locked? He must have left through an unknown exit.

3. Powder Gangers got away before Deathclaws came along.

4. They send people outside of the Vault like Veronica to gather supplies, she tells us this herself.

5. You have the Chip and can handle yourself well. Why send your own guys that know nothing about computers and tech into something that could kill them when you can send the Courier? If the Courier comes out and it isn't destroyed Caesar will kill you. Also keep in mind Caesar has brain cancer, so he isn't in the right state of mind to start with.

It's all right there in the game, but people are to lazy to put all the clues together. This is why you can't trust the Wiki 100% of the time, because alot of people change stuff or add stuff to the wiki all the time when they themselves doesn't bother to put the clues together.
