Check the backdrop in the tribal photo. A big town. Loads of houses and an arial mast for radio. Loads of stuff in those pics.
And a bar called Smittys in the classic shot. Who is smitty?

The bigger question to me is how long any of this unique stuff will be useful before you find better gear in-game anyway? Seems like most of it is just regular in-game items for free, which I don't care for. The only things listed that interest me at all are the Vault 13 items, and that's only because I wouldn't mind displaying some Vault 13 stuff in my house (for those that don't know, Vault 13 was the one the player character was from in Fallout 1). Even then, how hard would it be for someone to use the CS to just mod another canteen to have that texture? Not very.

Agreed.

Probably just means they weigh less. With Obsidian stressing the importance of balancing your character setup before adventuring, that would be my conclusion. It's like the fancy talk regarding Power Armour - in the end, the (fluff-wise) technology that makes you able to carry this massive piece of metal would only result (in gameplay) in it adding more carry weight, then filling it with the weight of the armour.

"The Mercenary Pack, available when you pre-order through Best Buy, contains:

?Lightweight Metal Armor – Modified for long-range travel, this Metal Armor sacrifices some protection for mobility and overall weight."

It mentions mobility and weight. Which would mean they are two different things. As I said earlier: It either affects run speed or stealth. Or maybe ability points. Gotta be one of those three I think.

Oh, okay. Should have looked for "mobility" a third time. Then I assume it is in regards to speed or stealth, though those probably would be influenced by weight, too.

Not the good type of sold out, like Carnigie Hall - but sold out like Metallica when they cut off their hair and made "Load".

I know, I know. . . everyone is throwing so much money at you to get a "pre-order bonus" exclusive to their chain - you just couldn't help yourself. But I am REALLY pissed off about this crap.

You see, I am your target demographic. I'm a young male age 20-30 who spends way too much time and money on videogames. I especially love your Elder Scrolls series in addition to the stellar new Fallout franchise. I've been playing games for over 27 years now, and your games since you started making them. I love the game so much, that I feel a little cheated when I dont get THE ENTIRE GOD DAMNED GAME when I spend my $50. Recently, I've noticed it's become a lame trend to have all this exclusive pre-order [censored]. Now, exactly how many times do you think I'm going to pre-order the same videogame? That's right, once. So how do I get all the preorder bonus content so that I actually have THE ENTIRE GOD DAMNED GAME? That's right, I can't. Congratulations, you've just discovered another reason people pirate software!

Do you know what would make this all better? Make the COLLECTOR'S EDITION of the game come with ALL of the assorted pre-order [censored]. Then the collectors of these fine digital works of art could get the complete package for an extra $10. Then I wouldn't be so pissed off about being squeezed for more money to get the complete game. You can keep your fake poker chips.

1. You're upset you don't get a special armor or weapon that may very well be useless after a few levels? You do realize the binoculars and the like are in the regular game, right? It's just the armor and weapons. And even those may just be unique versions of a similar armor or weapon. Just clam down. It's only a few items.
2. How is a pirate going to get any of the pre-order bonuses?

Well, you'll get the complete game minus some set of near-useless-at-higher-levels armor that looks almost exactly like one every raider in the entire game is wearing. Geez...now that I actually read that in writing I'm beginning to realize how utterly inadequate that's going to make the entire game. The horror.

Um you do realize most of this stuff is minor and is nothing great. Its a business and I find people that complain about Pre-order bonuses to be stubborn.Just embrace it and enjoy what you can get instead of being a negative Nancy.Worst case scenario you get desperate and buy the codes off of people.

You realize they don't charge you on your pre-order until it actually ships? So you're not even giving them money early. All you're doing is giving them an indication you're purchasing the game (since you should be able to cancel the order before shipment). Sheesh.

And with Amazon, at least, they give you the lowest price that materializes bwtn preorder and shipment date.

How does lacking a couple of armorsets make the game not "entire"? It's not like they're vital in completing it or managing in the gameworld. As you, I do think all this pre-order bonus stuff is full of [censored], but come on now. Not getting the "entire game"? That's as much full of [censored] as the p-o bonuses. :P

You convinced me. I'll have to get them all, otherwise it'll only be a hollow shell of a game. The corporations are, once again, stomping over the little guy. :swear:

If you refuse to buy a game because there are different preorder bonuses from different stores (whether the content is available elsewhere in the game or is exclusive to the preorder), you're going to miss out on a lot of games...

Does anyone think five packs is a little overkill? first off the CE was announced oer a month ago and i still cant pre order here second isnt it unfair saying you guys can have this but not this? it should either be everyone gets everything/or everyone gets one of the packs or everyone gets nothing its just so unfair this way i dont have a problem with pre order bonus's but this is really unfair IMO

When I buy pizza from one place I get garlic dipping sauce for the crust. When I order from another I get little bags of oregano and crushed red pepper. Different places are offering different promos. Fairness doesn't enter into it.

This is true. And some places throw in that stuff for free, while others charge you a quarter to even a dollar for dipping sauce.

you have to bear in mind that those are probally diffrent pizza companies and therefor will have diffrent deals hell een pizza place's (like Dominoe's for exaple) all have there own instore deals that are not governed by their head office and i know this for fact, but the game retailers cant just offer theese deals because they are proided by obsidian/bethesda so sureley obsidian/bethesda must have controll over where the bonus's go.

Actually, people who aren't interested in the game in any way shape or form wouldn't buy it.
