The Vault 13 Canteen interests me a little but I'm sure these are just starting items and later on we'll get better gear.

What? You don't like free stuff with your pre-orders?

That's like saying you don't like extra cheese on your pizza to thank you for making an order... : \

Pre-order crap should come with all copies of the game, considering it's already finished when the game is released. I pre-ordered already, and I seem to have made the right choice for myself(I like what comes with my pre-order).

Does anybody know if the preordered items are good for more than one character or if they are only useable in one playthrough?

I assume that they are useable every playthrough.

Should be its a single player game. And the item codes will either already be imbeded or will be put in after a quick dlc install.

No one has really mentioned this, but what will the armors look like on female characters? They're all tight fitting or in the case of the Tribal Raiding Armor exposed enough that they'd have to be different for female characters. I always play as a guy but this kind of started to bug me a couple of minutes ago.

It'll most likely be exactly like it was in FO3 - the armor looks basically the same, just a bit more curvy. (The tribal raider armor might be a bit more different, but I'd reference how the various Raider armors in FO3 worked.)

It's stupid crap like this that just pisses the fan base off. People will [censored] and moan that they can't get the bonus they want at their store, or that they want both bonuses.
How stupid is your marketing department to think up something like that?

When people say they want everything in "The entire game.", they mean any and all official content made for it. When people like this get everything in the game except something only available through a preorder code, they feel as if the game is unfinished. (There is something that still needs to be done.)

Developers that provide content only by preorder actually hurts these peoples pride as gamers.

If the Bethesda developers later release the starter equipment as DLC, yes Bethsda would get some extra dough, but players would be happier. Another idea is the option to upgrade their preorder. (Wherein the consumer would get all the extra starter equipment packages.)

Anyway, Here's a list of companies that have disappointed many people and lost some of my respect. (THIS IS RELEVANT)

Activision - They've removed the Marvel Ultimate Alliance Hero and Villain pack DLC from XBOX Live, which means the only way to get the DLC back if you have an old copy of the game and/or deleted the DLC you've already bought, is to buy the gold or platinum version of the game.
Bioware - One word, SecuROM. Look it up.
Bioware - Employed the Cerberus Network for Mass Effect 2. What this means is that ou have to have gotten the game new or purchased the network service for 1200 microsoft points just to be able to get DLC. (If you rent or buy a used copy, you have to buy the network service to be able to buy the DLC.)
Bungie - You are forced to preorder the game and buy a statue to get all in-game content for Halo: Reach.
EPIC - Did not release the extra chapter they put on the PC version of Gears of War as DLC for the 360 version.
Konami - In Hellboy: The Science of Evil, some achievements (160 points worth) are literally impossible to get. They released the game with the intent of making additional content. They didn't. The 160 achievement points are tied to this non-existing content. This means that whoever gets an achievement from this game automatically and permanently makes it impossible to get a 100% achievement rating on they're gamer profile.
Microsoft - If you are disconnected from the net while playing an Indie game, (including full versions) it kicks you out of the game.
Microsoft - Stopped the original XBOX LIVE architecture. (Can no longer connect to LIVE with a regular XBOX, Can no longer play Halo 2 on 360 online.)
Microsoft - Stopped re-releasing XBOX Originals for Games on Demand.
Sony - Took out PS2 compatibility for the PS3 (Hardware and emulators).
Sony - Took out the ability to install another OS on the PS3.
Sony - Took out SACD compatibility and other misc capabilities for the PS3.
Ubisoft - Splinter Cell: Conviction. If you buy the standard version, then you have to sell it and buy the collectors edition in order to get two additional in-game items.
Ubisoft - Splinter Cell: Conviction. Take a URL trip to eBay and look at all the DLC codes. Who else thinks all that extra content should just be a single DLC pack up for sale on LIVE and PSN?
Valve - Gave a Preorder code for a in-game Baseball Bat without it becoming DLC. (Because, you know, In Louisiana, Everybody gets a Katana, but only a select few can acquire a Baseball Bat.)

These are the biggest offenders to gamers off the top of my head. (Note to all companies and organizations: If people are getting mad at you, you're doing something wrong.)

A previous forum dweller called others stupid for not buying a game because the extra content is preorder only. My response is that yeah, he'll be missing out on a great game, but the reality is that it hurts the company. (see above note) People like this will much more likely rent or borrow than buy, so it's much better for the companies to put preorder and collectors edition content as DLC and not hide release dates. More people would buy (and sooner), less people would boycott and pirate.

So, I ask you Bethesda, are you going to be added to this list? I hope not. Gamers would like to know if there will be a DLC package containing all the extra preorder starting packages.

That's like saying you don't like extra cheese on your pizza to thank you for making an order... : \

Not quite, it's like saying if you want extra cheese, you have to order from a specific waiter/waitress. They also offer extra peperoni, mushrooms and hamburger if you order from the waiter/waitress that can offer you that. If you happen to have a favorite waiter/waitress, but their extra is mushrooms and you don't like/want mushrooms, you have to place your order from someone else. If you want both extra cheese and mushrooms, too bad.

You know what people do when they don't get what they want on their pizza? They start getting their pizza somewhere else or they don't have any. (They get a different game instead or they pirate it, or they forgo the game altogether and read a book.) I don't know about you, but I like my pizza with everything.

What about us that pro-order the CE from other sources? Do we get any pre-order bonuses? I'm not ordering my CE from Game since they screwed me over last time and we don't have Best Buy and Amazon just has a sky high shipping fee (Relative the the price IMO) and I'm not DL'ing from Steam. I what a case and a disc.

I was wondering if the classic pack is available for all consoles, the Vault says that it is for the Xbox 360 but I am not sure though. Also will these pre-order bonuses be in the Collectors Edition?

Free shipping is sky high? I always pre-order my games from Amazon with the free shipping, and it I get a day or two after it hits shelves.

I don't like these exclusive pre-order bonuses. Out of the four pre-sell packs, the Caravan pack is the one I'd want to go with, which forces me to buy it from Steam or Wal-Mart if I want that pack. I too want a disk, even if it is a Steam game, having the disk will speed up re-installs, so that now forces me to buy it from Wal-Mart, were it will cost more because they charge tax and shipping.

Are these items going to be you're starting gear? Everyone seems to be guessing it is, but the blog post doesn't say that it is. What is going to keep people from using the G.E.C.K. and extracting these "exclusive" items and sharing them?

Classic seems like the way to go for hardcoe. Also, I never used Steam, and never ever will, so I don't have many options.

If you want to play New Vegas, you'll have to use Steam. Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past week, Beth decided to cram Steamworks into FNV, so you're going to have to use Steam if you want to play it.

Does anyone know if Walmart will have preorders for the Collector's Edition any time soon (or anytime at all)? Also, is it possible to preorder New Vegas at Walmart its self or is it only through the online store?

Doesn't the game have to come out before they create a Collector's edition? Like Fallout 3, I am going to get this game before anything comes out for it. I am going to try to get my 360 online even if it is just a day or two a week. Such as, go to my uncle's house where he has wireless internet. Missing out on so much on games, any I buy feel like demos at times.

Definitely have to get myself the armored vault suit. That thing is a relic from the past.
