New Vegas suddenly requires a key

Post » Tue Jun 15, 2010 5:49 pm

I met with Mr. House in the Lucky 38 and got the presidential suite and have been storing my gear there and traveling back and forth from the gate to new vegas. suddenly the gate requires a key i do not have/never got and i cannot get back into New Vegas. The first time I got through this gate I had to submit a credit check (2000 caps) and now I have more than 35k caps so I know it's not because of that. So this seems to be some sort of glitch and it is preventing me from entering New Vegas now. Any suggestions?

Exact samething happened to me. I put in about thirty hours on this game and tolerated all the bugs and crashes. But I had just done a mission for the brotherhood of steel, I tried to get back into vegas and it says I need a key. I can deal with some things but this is too much. I traded the game in, I will never buy a product from obsidian or bethesda again. This game was released in a very defective state, it seems obsidian has never heard of game testing before, seeing as they have a long track record of flawed game releases.

I cant get into Vegas anymore either. :( Plus a bunch more other crap. And 70% of the voice acting sounds like someone reading a book. Flat and without emotion.

This is an easy fix. First you have to be on good terms with the NCR ( i was never not, so I dont know if it works if they hate you). Go to Macarin airbase and take the NCR tram into the strip. Then when you leave the strip take the normal way, and that should fix it. It has happened to me twice now and this has worked both times.

I'm in a similar situation, except that I am stuck on the quest "I Put a Spell on You". That quest is bugged so that even though I have disarmed the bomb on the monorail, it will still take off and explode. My quest objectives show that I have disarmed it but Colonel Hsu offers me no new dialogue options to truly. The monorail just takes off and explodes anytime I load that zone.

I'm locked out of the Strip and I cant go through the Monorail, does anyone have any advice?

This problem is also occuring in the PC version of the game. I just finished a quest for the boomers, no problems up until now with any of the gameplay. Seems like the game is saying, "please don't play with me anymore" and I just might do that. :violin:

If you get your problem sorted and can move on with the game then I suggest talking to Chief Hanlan over at Camp Golf. Some of the best voice acting I've ever heard. I'm 57 hours into the game and Hanlan is the only NPC where I didn't skip the text and actually listened.
