M-16 in New Vegas

Post » Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:30 pm

In Tactics, the M-16 was deemed inconsistent with the retro-futuristic theme along with the fossil fuel powered vehicles in a timeline where nearly all sources of oil in the world were depleted... considering the world took an alternate route following the 50s in the Fallout series. I'm curious, with modern weapons showing up in New Vegas, is this going to give Tactics some validity?

Call it an A1, A4, M4, AR-15... whatever you want, (The M4 is just shorter and lighter -- mostly the same weapon though) it still does not change the question/statement.

It might give the weapons a little more consistency, but Tactics had a lot of story that was inconsistent. But Fallout 3 did remove some of that with the tactics brotherhood being acknowledged as existing as rebels.
