Not sure if this will help.. but thought to let you know anyway..
One thing I did was to move my save files to a safe location (about 300 of them), deleted everything to do with FOLV including the directories, ran CCleaner, reinstalled the game and all the mods I had (got the latest versions of the mods), and then put the save files back in the right folder. My game then worked fine right at where I had left off. Of course this did not fix the other crashing problems I've since getting the game, but at least I could play.

Hi guys. Recently, I have been downloading tons of New Vegas mods. Now this caused absolutely zero problems with Fallout New Vegas. It ran beautifully. Then I installed the 4GB mod for New Vegas, and put the game to run in windowed mode. After this, I began to have problems I would run the game from the 4 GB mod launcher and the screen would go black and the game would not start. After a couple of times doing this, I decided to uninstall the 4GB mod launcher (which I had installed correctly from following the instructions from Gopher's mod clinic video), and took the game off of windowed mode. However, the same thing happened. I tryed verifying the game cache files, but it always said that it failed to verify 1 fil and that file would e reaquired. The game still refused to start. I then uninstalled and reinstalled Fallout New Vegas but still to no avail. I know this game can run on my computer perfectly fine because I played 103 hours on this game in total, (2 hours with the mods installed). I think I may have acciedentaly delted an important file when I uninstalled the 4GB mod, but I am probably wrong on this assumption.
