I dunno, I think they're just reusing the original Sniper artwork. It didn't mean we could go prone in any of the older games. Of course, I'd love to be able to go prone. Just hold the Sneak button and stay still.
Which further adds to the possibility of the PC being able to use a yao guai as a mount!
Yeah, this seems like a stretch. I'm pretty sure it was just a visual gag, or we might get a Mammoth-sized Mole Rat queen as a rare boss. But riding one of those things?
Either way, I think Fallout 4 suddenly got a lot more interesting!!
That's what I was thinking, Mole Rat Behemoth.
Some kind of molerat king/queen/behemoth/badass makes sense looking at that concept are. And there was another new thing from a screenshot (was it a mirelurk queen or something) that I don't think we've seen before. The cartoon thing just looked really weird, and on it's hind legs as well
Yeah, a huge Mirelurk Queen showed up in the combat gameplay compilation video. I just re-watched that a few times while I was on Bethesda's YouTube channel. Man, this game looks soooo damn good! I just can't wait for November 10th!
My buddy scared me when he showed me the Perception video. It says 10-11-15 at the end. Then we realized it was posted by bethesdasoftworksUK and got sad
I didn't see where it was implied that moving silently was influenced by PER....just the pickpocket part.
The reference to Davy Crockett amused me.
'You'll put Davy Crockett to shame.'

They are really catching the 50's vibe with these...
Maybe I won't be able to play as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QxeSfn1ME4, but Davy Crockett of the wastes would be almost as fun.
Clearly the giant clawed creature at the end is Dinky the T-Rex.
Wasn't that already well known considering the Strength video blatantly told us that already?
Regardless, very interesting insight into Perception as we now know it will be the attribute that governs pickpocketing this time around, along with lockpicking as usual. I guess they're beginning to separate these skills into different attributes now instead of Agility governing everything involving stealth. Agility will allow you to sneak in general, navigating and taking out enemies quietly, but Perception will be the key to actually doing some infiltration.
Things like pickpocket being in perception makes a lot of sense actually.
Many pickpockets don't use "stealth", not in the sneaking game sort of way, to steal from their targets. A lot of it is more based on perecption, seeing how your target is, and what the best way to take something off of them without being caught is.
That said, that's usually also based on the mark's perception. You "accidentally" bump into someone and steal their wallet, the collision and the subsequent confusion drawing their attention away from what you're taking from them.
I still think that Perception should determine what you can steal, while Agility governs how successful your attempts are.
Really good point here. Agility doesn't really have much to do with pickpocketing other than 'grab and go' quickly stealing and running stuff. I think perception makes sense in being able to pull off a good pickpocket undetected
