New S.P.E.C.I.A.L Video out - Perception

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 2:10 am

Also keep in mind that the P1 perk looks like Vault Boy picking a lock and picking a pocket at the same time; it seems that Lockpicking and Pickpocket have more or less been combined. I wonder if we'll be able to steal equipped weapons and armor like in Skyrim...

Why do some people on here insist on giving me such a hard time no matter what I post? It is kind of getting a bit ridiculous at this stage.

The fact is, when the Strength video was released, this information was suggested by the contents of the video, but it was unclear whether or not this was an actual perk due to the way the short clips were cut together. Now that the Perception video has been released, we can see a close-up of the icon at S3 for the first time, and so I thought I would help to clarify this by confirming that it is the exact same imagery.

Probably because they aren't, you're just taking it harder than they intend.

Beyond that though, most people watched the Strength video and figured out from various context clues that weapon and armor crafting were covered at least somewhat by Strength, only for you to argue against that by performing mental gymnastics and bizarrely twisting words around. Now you're coming in a week late acting like you've got breaking news when you're saying what we all deduced a while back.

I can see this; in the video he steals the ammo right out of the gun. Not quite the same, but close. What I'm wondering is if it still governs energy weapons - if it does, along with the sneaking and sniping and VATS, this will be a strong stat for me.

Well Sure seems I was dead wrong in the strength special thread, with this new vid.

Yes I know most are saying 2-capsl?? Never heard of him and why should I care. yes yes But seems I was wrong none the less.......

(start sad violin Back round music)

And yet out of the many things that may have led me to this sorry fate.. I blame society. Yes society made me what I am... And Todd its mostly his fault.

(still think these vid's will go together for a nice little movie in the end)

No matter what when speculation is involved there will always be people who were wrong with their ideas. At the end of the day at least they contributed something to the conversation. That's my 2-caps. <- See what I did there 2-caps? Lol

So that leaves October 30th and November 6th.

F4 will have gone gold long before then.

Anyone hopeful Bethesda will drop the entire perk chart some time during the last two weeks before F4 releases?

In the lineup of the "dangers" of the wasteland, is the last creature a death claw or Godzilla?! Lol

In matty′s youtube channel he implies that it is a queen molerat, as seen in the concept art. He might be right.

I initially figured it was just a joke, but if Bethesda actually put in a colossal Queen Mole Rat I'll get a great laugh.

I don't think it will be divided up the same way skills/governing attributes were in the old games. I think they'll break it down so that you need separate perks in order to craft/modify energy weapons or guns or whatever, but then the combat perks will deal more with pistols/rifles/big guns. I mean, it makes more sense that way; someone who's proficient with a 10mm or a .32 Pistol should be able to use a Laser or Plasma Pistol about as well, but guns/energy weapons still require separate technical knowledge to take apart and build.

So, you'll need separate "technical knowledge" perks in order to craft different things like armor, big guns, small guns, or energy weapons - but in combat, it will be divided more along the lines of "you know how to shoot straight, or really swing for the fences, or handle the recoil of your weapon".

No, you're right. But in retrospect, I've never been one to follow the crowd. I like to make my own mind up about such matters, even if that sometimes means I end up being proved wrong. The difference is that I'm looking at the whole chart and making sure that everything fits together. The irony being that my alternative suggestions actually fit a bit too well, which is what threw me in the first place.

And as far as breaking news, I would say that seeing the static perk icon on the chart for the very first time, rather than watching an animated video clip that many people were confused by would constitute breaking news.

Say, watching the video again, I noticed something potentially significant. The fact that they show Vault Boy targeting the weapon with VATS. This implies that we might somehow be able to damage said weapon, implying that weapons have some sort of health, no?

I'm not sure. During the E3 footage I didn't see the weapon get highlighted with the VATS overlay like the rest of the Raider, and that would trump these videos for me - although you could presumably just target the arm to shoot it out of their hand. Or maybe one of the ranks of P3 enables you to target the weapon? I still wouldn't say it's damning evidence that weapon condition is in one way or another, but it is cool.

Another thing, in this video when the Raider's chest was actually targeted, I get the feeling that it was targeted multiple times with the Concentrated Fire perk. Which is P10 iirc.

It seems we can now steal an enemy's ammo out of their gun if we're good at sneaking. interesting...

This is most likely just an indication that you can shoot the weapon from an enemies hands like you could in FO3 and NV

I'm not so sure about that. Even if it was just a giant Deathclaw, its stance doesn't look right. The way it sits on its hind legs looks wrong. It actually reminds me of the way we used to think a T-Rex looked when we thought they dragged their tails compared to how we think they looked now assuming their tails were for balance.

If it's a deathclaw its one fat one! A really fat one. The molerats are chubby And the claws and way it is sitting makes me think it is a molerat.

Maybe we are both wrong and its a giant dinosaur! Wild wasteland perk FTW! :)
