I tried looking -hard- at this vid, was thinking perception might pay off.
Was hoping to find something but my eyes are too bad and screen is to dang small heh.
I do think the kid might be reading a grognak (maybe or i am nuts, that maybe raider gun sure looked like a sawed off double barrel shotgun), but i was really hoping to spot the perception bobble head (dont think its there unless its behind the well)
Anyone notice anything?? (besides that huge freaking death-Mole-Super-Behemoth- Lurk)
Well in the E3 combat montage, you can clearly see that the bars indicate condition of the limbs, not the chance to hit, particularly when VATS is used on that raider. This combined with the Perception video showing you can target the weapon (most likely after you take a certain perk) makes me think that weapon condition may be present in some form.
It could just be the enemy's ability to hold their weapon. The weapon's condition may not deplete when hit, but they'll still be disarmed if you hit it enough.
I hope not. I want weapon condition to remain a thing.
They are not supposed to be spoiler leaks, they are made to promote the game.
The Strength video is pushing a million views after a week, (despite being mirrored all over the place) this is some marketing campaign...
Hopefully by the time we get to Charisma people will have figured out that these videos were never meant to give us a ton of gameplay information in the first place.
Although the brief brief perk hints are pretty handy, though. Before the Strength video it was unconfirmed if we could craft armor (and we didn't know it was ST related), and this video showed us what P3 is and a bit of what it does. For us crazy forumites this is basically just confirmation, but you know.
edit: hey wait a minute
I think in this video (but not necessarily in game) the bar is showing the % to hit alongside the text - as Vault Boy targets the chest the % chance and the bar both go up.
While true I don't think that we (as in avid forum goers who will pull every scrap of info apart) are the intended audience here. These are promotional pieces for a more generic audience; people who haven't necessarily been living and breathing Fallout 4 since announcement. They're nice videos, and I enjoy watching them, but I'm not expecting any revolutionary information to come from them that we haven't already seen. Quite honestly I'm happy with that. I can't wait to get my teeth into the game on release and find new things as I go.
I watched in again after reading this and I agree. I think the bar and the percent are telling us only chance to hit, not condition. I am going to watch some gameplay footage from E3 and see if it matches this.
edit after watching E3 footage:
In the footage at E3 the bar and percent do not match, so it seems the bar does indicate health. Maybe this changed since then. Gimme my game! End my misery please!
Just saying, the 37% we see in the video has nothing to do with the shotgun, it's actually the chance to hit the enemy's right leg.
They also don't show any weapon targeting in the E3 footage. I would assume that's more accurate than a series of non-canon animated shorts, personally.
Either the chance of hitting the shotgun will be the same as the chance of hitting the right arm (17%), or the actual figure is not shown in the video due to space limitations. Either way, the 37% is still there once the weapon has been shot out of his hand, which means it was not to do with the shotgun.
Just watch out for the one that's chambered.
It was probably making fun of Gojira which was an unused giant gecko in FNV. It was of course just left in the files and modders put it back in.
Seems to me any crafting would be tied to Intelligence, not Strength. Strength being a requirement for crafting anything makes no sense.
It's likely for game balance. If all crafting is tied to one or two intelligence perks, particularly high ranked ones, then the stat becomes too much of a prerequisite. Crafting is probably sprinkled into various stats.
Besides, the best minds can think of how to design good armor, but without the strength to put all the pieces together, that's just doodles on a piece of paper.
Indeed, most likely for balance sake. If someone were to focus on crafting, they would need to have decent strength anyway, to carry all of the items needed for crafting. A character such as that, would need a combination of brains and brawn.
Very true. Looking at what we know so far, we can also add in the possibility of crafting explosives/incendiaries (under P5). This gives us a full weapon/armor crafting system split between 5 perks that are governed by 3 stats, which actually looks to be a very balanced system. If we then take into account the multiple perks under Charisma that will no doubt affect settlement building, the full range of crafting options in Fallout 4 are starting to look very nice!
that is not my point instead of providing their customers and fans informartion they just overhyping the game even more and instead let a bunch of youtubbers spread out the most absurd speculations and rumours
as a result expectations are going to be so high alot of us are going to be very dissapointed when the game finally comes out
only thing bethesda actually cares for now is todd howard 4 th game of the year award
