Bethesda just posted another video of the SPECIAL series. This time it's Perception.

It'll influence VATS accuracy, and sneak is tied with it now.

I thought Agility covered sneaking?
Still looks like we're seeing perks at the end of the video.
Could someone post a link that doesn't require a Youtube account? =/
EDIT: Nevermind I found it Elsweyr. I do like how they're actually covering the sense of touch by making pickpocketing governed by Perception.
Well, seeing that you must first perceive of a potential blow to your stealth cover before you can avoid it...
I think Sneak will be effected by both Perception and Agility. You can be agile, but if you are not aware of what is around you, then you might give yourself away. The flip side would be if you are perceptive, and know your surroundings and where the enemy is, but are a bumbling oaf you would still get caught. I liked this video better than the first one.

But I'd think that pickpocketing would be more about your dexterity. Maybe Perception governs what you're able to take because you can see your mark has it, while Agility covers your odds of success? So with a low Perception you can't access their entire inventory.
Makes more sense to me.
Honestly that vid really didn't tell me anything ... well other than vault-tec videos have gone downhill lately.
Just looked up the E3 video again. Agility does govern Sneaking. Historically, that's governed pickpocketing since Bethesda took over. Though considering skills were dismantled, maybe pickpocketing is completely independent of Sneak now, and just is governed by Perception. Odd that it isn't mentioned in the attribute descriptions though.
I think they was covering lock picking and pick pocketing.
Perception looks to cover lockpicking, pickpocketing, V.A.T.S. accuracy, as well as situational awareness (threat indicators)
More interestingly, after rewatching the video in super-slow-motion, I can confirm that Strength 3 is definitely Armor Crafting!!
Yeah, Perception covers Lockpicking and Pickpocketing. Since Fallout always described Perception as all of your five senses, I always figured it covered some of the things a classic Dexterity stat would too; so it fits that Pickpocketing and Lockpicking would be under Perception rather than Agility, while Agility gets good old sneaking.
I guess P3 is a perk that adds more information to targets in VATS mode; like how we could see the level of one of those raider bosses in the E3 footage. Maybe each rank offers more information, and by the end of it the perk is basically Living Anatomy?
edit: E4 is definitely Chem Resistant, if there was any doubt before.
The exact wording for P3 is: "keenly assessing the unfriendly locals and terrain", which fits perfectly with my suggestion of the Awareness perk. In order to keenly assess your enemies, you will need to increase your awareness. This can be achieved by slowing down time when using V.A.T.S. The suggested bonus feature of adding tactical information at rank 3 also matches this description, as well as the E3 footage.
I can see you're enjoying how the videos validate / confirm (or don't) all the work you've done speculating on SPECIAL
I hope you find it is largely confirming the speculations.
oh, and we clearly have a 'weekly' video (6 days?) here, so Endurance next week...
Even though this shakes things up a lot, the more information we have, the closer I can get to figuring all of this out! Some of the perks are now definitely not what I had speculated (Rocketeer and Crushing Blow), but because there is now enough information to confirm what these two perks are, I can get to work on figuring out exactly what they do. Incidentally, many of my other predictions have been confirmed by the two videos, and so all in all this is very good news
Also, I think all of the apparel we see some of those goons wearing is based on in-game stuff. The guy that Vault Boy stole the gun's magazine from had a helmet identical to one they showed appearing the Vault Boy's loot pile in the last video, and another guy had a face-piece that looked a lot like a Raider that got pistol-whipped in the E3 footage. Too bad they didn't show us any new enemies on that first bit... unless Bethesda made Godzilla canon. Imagine the nerd rage if they did! (enemy lineup looks like an Eyebot, a Raider, a Protectron, a Radscorpion, a Yao Guai, a Super Mutant Behemoth, and... Radzilla. That's probably ordered from weakest to strongest, too.)
I'm really excited for next week. Endurance is my favorite attribute, and I have the sneaking suspicion that it will be extra violent.
Based on the dates so far, the full schedule of video releases should be as follows:
Strength (September 10th)
Perception (September 16th)
Endurance (September 22th)
Charisma (September 28th)
Intelligence (October 4th)
Agility (October 10th)
Luck (October 16th)
and then
QuakeCon Demo (October 23rd)
I think the Sniper perk actually has to do with sniping this time, and isn't just a VATS accuracy bonus to headshots.
I would hope that QC Demo is released long before then, and that they release an even bigger and deeper Demo in late October to put the hype train into overdrive.
So what's the fat dinosaur looking thing at the end of them scrolling through enemies (right after the vault opens in the beginning)?
