Actually I heard there might not. Since they are the tutorials found in the actual game. I wish they would just show us all of the abilities.

SMART videos are silly to put out this is just another shooter

Define "another shooter".

If you are saying that all shooters have guns and run on the basis of killing people, then that description applies to every shooter game in existence.

I haven't met one that melds parkour, customization of weaponry and characters, a heavy emphasis of teamwork, and a unique art style all in one package. "Another shooter" doesn't come bundled with all of these.

Revised my original post for accuracy. Thanks for pointing that flaw out in my post.

you do realize Brink releases before E3? :celebration:

also i just noticed Major Nelson (xbox) already has Brink in his played games, so he will probably do a "major minute" vid or podcast imo http://majornelson.com/
i do expect at least a few more vids in the "get smart" series and alot more coverage from outside sources (such as Major Nelson vids) as the release date draws closer.

EDIT: i found an actual new vid about the Brink event from pax, no gameplay but a cool vid to watch which at the end will get you about 2 minutes closer to the actaul release date! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MruG3QGb6Nw

Then why be on this forum? This "shooter" has a unique aspect to it that has never been done before.

Maybe but if playing it without those aspects makes you level up faster, be a better teammate etc instead of just dodging enemies and incoming fire [looks to me all its good for] then people are going to disregard them.

Your'e right.

SMART won't help you get around, over, under and through obstacles that get between you and your objectives.

And you won't be able to get in close to a teammate while evading fire just because you know how to wallhop into paths the Heavy can't follow you into.

/sarcasm.

There's more use for SMART than just "dodging" - and even dodging will have its objective-based uses. Skilled players using LIght bodies and effective SMART-based play will be quite capable of getting to objectives MUCH faster than the defenders expect. They'll also be able to find paths which other body types, or less skilled players, would never reach, and as such, would never suspect.

Also, there's the novelty value which makes some videos worth doing - find places you can do multiple wallhops, just to film from another player's perspective and watch a guy bouncing between walls somewhere just because it looks cool - even if it's totally impractical in any realistic sense.

Posts have gone away. Warnings issued. Folks please read the forum rules. You agreed to follow them when you joined and I sure don't like giving warnings and suspensions this near the games release. Makes me sad, so read the rules, report things and don't call them names or flame. K????

I'm just trying to look objectively at this game for the long term. Sure first time users will try SMART out but I'm sure you can accomplish objectives without it. If you move I shoot you. How does smart help you there?

If you're staying still while I'm moving AND shooting, with the way the game's set up, I have the advantage. You're an easier target, and I'm bouncing over obstacles and off walls and spinning mid-air to keep my gun tracking you while I arc overhead. The person with the better combination of aim AND MOBILITY will win.

SMART isn't the basis of BRINK. That's like saying Mirror's Edge is a crappy game because the guns only have one magazine.

BRINK is a shooter with a little bit of parkour. SMART isn't a core pillar of BRINK, Mingleplayer and Uber Customization and Teamplay are the core pillars.
