New Voice Actor Confirmed?

Post » Wed Aug 03, 2011 11:42 am

To be honest I couldn't care less what work a voice actor's done before so long as he or she is good at the job. And no-one's offered any suggestion this guy isn't good at the job. Just (to be blunt) some rather precious and condescending mockery of his career choices.

Maybe he's just taken a few bit parts in between special effects and makeup work? That seems to be a big part of his career.

I don't think that means he's voicing a general. More likely it means he is doing some 'general" voice work, like some generic npcs or whatnot.

I don't trust IMDB or whatever the hell it is, I'll believe it when Beth announces them.

I really hope this confirms there are generals in the Rebel and Empire armies. They have a war to fight, after all.

There are only 2 ways that credit could have been added

1. whoever admins Bethesda's imdb account (probably Nick or Gstaff); or

2. Brandon or his agent added the credit

Yeah. So long as it's not the guy that did Malygos or the lady that did Lady Deathwhisper in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, I don't care.

Oh and the old voiced for Theralion and Valiona. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUkAY2AhgQ4&feature=related They changed his voice for a reason.

It still could've been added on by a random person. Now after all is said and done it could be true but until Beth announces it I won't believe it nor do I trust it.

How? AFAIK, you can only add things to your own profile.

And before any submitted changes are made, they get vetted and approved by human staff.

IMDB is not like any sort of wiki

Doesn't look like hes been short of work and thats a good sign.
Been in quite a variety of different stuff and thats a good sign too.
Personally I don't think any less of the good work that Sean Connery or Michael Caine has done just because they've also done some absolute rubbish for the money.

LOL OK talk to me again in a few years when you're old and jaded - even DiCaprio and Brad Pitt do lame commercials in Japan, for example.

I agree with what you're saying. I think your words are very wise.

It's very hard to make a living as an actor and within certain extreme limits, you have to take what you can get, especially when you are just starting out. And even very established actors and performers have a price they will accept to do something they might think is not a quality project. For example, Beyonce does birthday parties for wealthy sheikhs.

Bethesda said 70+ voice actors, i doubt he is known or anything they probably got a bunch of noobies

I highly doubt they would get noobs, even Oblivion featured mostly famous voice actors.

Pretty much this. I am a Fledgling actor, but I never plan on doing anything I won't be proud of.

Thats what I said until I had to act in some movies that I needed to do to get through college....

Who am I kidding I'd probably take a Disney Channel job if it was offered to me. Call me a sellout, but at least I'd have a possible acting career ahead of me and a pretty good salary.

Ah, but I am a man who is proud of the tiniest of things... just not anything on the Disney Channel.

Plus, I'm a Theater man myself. And also, very young

I went for college for acting and am in the worst place in the US for any fledgling actor who's not too keen to the stage... New England.

Honestly, we all have to make compromises, and I will no doubt be in many a production I will look back and shake my head at. You take what you can get as an actor. Even the greats have starred in some schlock.

Anyway, I noticed that imdb lists some dude named Brandon Ellison as voicing the General or a general.

In this case general means a wide spread grouping.
As in a general group.

He has multiple roles.

Plan on being a failure then. I'm not in the industry but even I know you have to earn your chops before you can make it. As long as it's not porm nobody will hold it against you for taking what you can get until you get a break. What's important is gaining experience and making connections. Without that you've got nothing.

i honestly dont care what the guy has voiced/acted in. if he is believable at his role no matter how stupid the role may seem then he is good enough to voice in skyrim.

Just be glad you don't have me as a voice actor...due to a trachiotomy 28 years ago, my voice is very quiet and very raspy. Don't even ask if I can sing!
