Lol i know that in Oblivion if you resisted arrest they would kill you, but with the whole new combat system and how guards can surround you, dont you think they should try to knock you out or something? just think about it. You would be like surrounded and then you would try to push and attack them but then they will push you down and knock you out by like kicking you in the face or like hitting you with the handle of their sword. Leave a comment on what you think and other ideas about how guards should arrest you. thanks

You could surrender to the guards even after you attacked them in Oblivion. You have to put your weapon away and talk to them while blocking I beleive. It wasn't always insta aggro death.

- Resist arrest = Guards will not kill you KO like you said would be awesome
- Resist arrest and attack = Guards still won't Kill you but they when they KO out and wake up in prison you are severely wounded.
- Kill a Guard = They kill you no questions asked

Well, I think this a concern on how they fight you. I'm going to assume, albeit it's never right to do so, that in the initial arrest attempt, you'll enter a dialog entry, where you're asked to stand down. Given the new system, how this will play out, I do not know. And continuing on this theory, I'm going to say that if you were to resist this invitation, attacking would commence.

I'm sure standard attacks would suffice for a criminal resisting to be shackled, and knocking down their criminal scum would never happen. I'm sure they'll yell at you, and just attack you if you politely decline.

I think this system would be the best. That way, thieves could just try to run away and not be immediately sentenced to death for having stolen a damn shirt

I was gonna post exactly this if no one else did, because this system is best. It's almost perfect... only because perfection isn't attainable.

IRL if you resist arrest after a serious crime, and the police can't get you, they will use deadly force.

This isn't real life though. Knocking out would work best. Besides, in real life, we have guns and other weapons to stop somone who's escaping from long range, in the Elder Scrolls universe there's bows and a fireball or two. I'd also love to see nearby guards surrounding you as you're in conversation with one since everyone has lost the ability to freeze time, stand still and talk with somebody and if it doesn't work out unfreeze time and try to kill them. On that note, since some real life connections are possible, guards who can't hear everything within a ten mile radius anyone?

I personally think that they should use the method the Nordic countries in real life used to enforce law back in the day

The Dialog system is different, so I expect you surrender to the Guards the same way you do in in Red Dead Redemption. Holster your weapons and stand still.

If you resisted arrest wielding deadly force, any law enforcement will kill you. On Nirn or Earth. Not KO you. In fact guards n Nirn would be faster to kill you than law enforcement IRL.

This is Skyrim, where most of the guards are Nords. They'll probably see fit to kill you if you just fidget suspiciously!

I thought this would eb about different posible crimes that would be new ways to get arrested not about a change in the system of being arrested.

That's when you use the dragon shout to teleport out of your surroundings. I guess I don't know how to spell teleport because no matter what I do it still has a red squiggly line under it.
