New Ways of the Psijic Order

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:58 pm

"As a Psijic of the New Ways, the Dwemer appear to have been most successful in the Endeavor than any mortal. Their Endeavor is not the shared Endeavor of the Old Way. The New Way, so I speak with no REAL title, is the Way in which I have devoted my research to. I find this New Way to be most delightful a study. The Dwemer have taught me more about the "ideals" of the Endeavor than any Psijic could have in 1,000 years. So many questions, so little time. Finding answers appears to be the primary purpose of mortal existence."

Is there any reference to what these "New Ways" mentioned are, or any speculation as to what exactly he's referring to?

Probably the Numidium, or a reference to Numidiuming oneself

He probably means the Dwemer's metaphysics in general, the "forbidden" magic they practiced. I don't think the actual Psijics would share his view, he just thinks they're the same.

But Fyr doesn't seem to be "Numidiuming" himself. If anything he's dividing himself up further with his wives.

Can we draw any relations between the Dwemer, Fyr and the Old Ways?

I meant between their theories and practices, not them in particular.

He's referring to the Psiijic Endeavor, not the Psiijic Order- transcendence. Dyvath Fyr recognizes that the Dwemer's intention was to escape the prison of the mortal world and become greater than it. They built Numidium to accomplish this, a very different method than the Old Ways (see the book) of Artaeum.

So how is Divayth Fyr following the ways of the Dwemer?

Also, what is "Numidiumism", as used in The Dragon Break Reexamined?

He's not following them, just studying them.

Numidiumism refers to obsession with Talos' robot. But be advised, bigger [censored] than that book has never been recorded.
