I'm not really interested in new weapon types, just a LOT of variety for the usual types (swords, bows, etc).

But crossbows existed in the Empire of Morrowind, so they shouldn't just be Dwarven. Seriously, they are more Viking style than a regular long-bow.

I would like to see a return to magical weapons like in Morrowind where you read the book and could go searching for all the best weapons
Also i would like to see a return to the weapons that you could make out of that enchanted ice you got while in Solsthiem in Bloodmoon

If that's the case then guns should show up.

Lol, good point.

Crossbows only, though, plz. No guns in everyone's TES. This isn't Fable 2...

Skyrim will feature jobs and children, and people are asking for six, marriage, raising a kid, owning a pet dog, and buying houses and shops. It already has Fable 2 content, and people are asking for tons more. I have every right to think that guns should be in a game that had crossbows exist for more than 200 years in game time.

a lightning sword called the storm. extra powerful if used while the lightning storm dragon shout is being used. it could be pointed to the sky and strike down an overhead dragon so you could fight it on the ground :mohawk:

Recall spell, but this time on target. I'll just mark a spot a few hundred feet underwater. Next to the emperor crab's home.

Guns weren't developed for one-thousand five-hundred years... I think the 200 year time-span doesn't change ANYTHING.

Guns were developed in Tamriel? This isn't Europe. For all we know they advance their technology as fast as the native Americans or Africa.

And they [Native Americans/Africans], most certainly, did NOT have guns for a long while.

Besides, the skill is labeled "ARCHERY," not "MARKSMANSHIP."

They *did* have crossbows. While in Africa without European influence it's highly likely that spears would still be the norm.

In a society that produce brass locks with small-scale mechanics? I think that the people of Tamriel could figure out that an explosive powder (which, to my knowledge, already exists in TES) put into a tube, and ignited with a mechanism similar to the trigger system in a common crossbow would propel an iron ball fast enough to pwn an enemy. Hell, cannons existed, they even make jokes about cannons, so you think a nation that was deprived of the mages guild for 190 years would have made enough of a technological advance to shrink the cannon down to a man-portable size and add a trigger mechanism.

*ahem* ^ Spears still ARE the norm for plenty of tribes......

Although I know what you mean, and am sure it is entirely good-hearted in meaning, it doesn't fit the game, nor the name of the skill for ranged combat, mind you.

I distinctly remember when learning about how Mussolini attacked Ethiopia, my teacher explained that it was "literally Italian tanks fighting against Ethiopian spears." So when WWII rolled around, spears were the norm in that region, but Europe, what I think Tamriel is modeled after, had freaking tanks.

And, personally, I don't think that children and a lack of number crunching fit in TES, but it's all there. So now I get to make some requests. I want simple flintlock pistols with a fabric lined cartridge. Compared to how children are going to have to be handled to avoid a media firestorm, I think adding another type of weapon to the game that does less damage but bypasses armor is an acceptable request.
