New Year's Crash

I've googled this problem to death and went through 20 pages of forum threads but it seems no one else has had this issue, so this is basically my last attempt to figure something out here. I have Morrowind GOTY, recently reinstalled onto a new PC with Windows 7 and have not had any issues beyond the occasional CTD. The CTDs, however, are always accompanied by the "Morrowind *32.exe has encountered an error and needs to close" standard error window. This, though, is something else entirely. On Evening Star 31, the last day of the year, the game completely freezes at midnight, as it should be switching over to the new month in-game. I originally thought it might be an error with a Werewolf mod I had, since I encountered it on Solstheim originally, but disabling the mod did not solve the problem. I also loaded an earlier save and returned to Vvardenfell, but the same freeze occurred both with and without said Werewolf mod being activated. It doesn't matter if I am sleeping, resting/waiting, walking, in the middle of combat - when the new month/year flips over, the game instantly freezes. The music continues to play, but the screen is frozen and I have to ctrl+alt+delete my way out of the game.

I have disabled pretty much every mod I could think of that would modify time, as I had both the Calender Fix and a mod which added Holidays to the game, but that didn't seem to help at all. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I thought of testing with a clean game and new character, but the idea of waiting 138 in-game days isn't very appealing.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1461096-repairing-the-cogs-of-morrowind-28-mcp/ corrects the months in the calender but not sure if it helps with the crash
