New York, New York

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:48 pm

Well, after my unsuccessful RP, Blood and Tears, a friend of mine convinced me to make a new one set in New York. I hope this one goes far.

The Story

After a terrible, head on nuclear blast, New York has become what it is today, a city that never sleeps. Nuclear war has not stopped this city from thriving. Though it has destroyed parts of it. The story takes place in 2282, where three major companies fight for the control of the city. These companies are willing to do anything for control. Residents of New York have recorded murders, and many are sure the companies are sending out hitmen. Now there's no one to trust, and no one can trust you.

Places

New York- The main setting for this RP. The RP will take place in other cities, but the main plot takes place in New York.

Empire State Building- Once a tourist attraction, now it is a trading hub for all the residents of New York. It also serves as a hotel, strip club, bar, mall, gift shop, spa and much more.

Lodger Academy- The Ferriers (see factions) inhabit this building and use it as their base. Thousands of people enter and exit this building every day.

Statue of Liberty Memorial- The Statue of Liberty has been blown away by the nuclear blast and now resides in the water. You may see the feet still standing on it's pedestal, and the torch can been seen above the sea.

The Museum of Natural History- It has been untouched by the war, except it has rusted over the years. Contains new exhibits about the Fallout Universe rather than ours.

The Godly Six Suns Memorial- The Ancients (see factions) built this memorial in honor of the Godly Six Suns, who, in their religion, serve as the creators of everything and the hosts of deadly power. The memorial is six suns, each of different colors, around a slightly larger ball of energy colored purple.

The Six Suns Church- This is where the Godly Six Suns recite phrases from the Mongula (their Bible) and pray to the "lords." Smells like eggs from all the pranks people have thrown on the church.

Mercenary's Hideout- Despite its name, the Mercenary's Hideout is not hidden and open to the public. This is a trading pub owned by the Herts. (see factions)

Head of the Snake- This is the exit to New York, where you reach Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont. You may travel to these states but for a good reason.

Lots O' Bullets- Lots O' Bullets is a gun shop in the corner of New York city. It doesn't have as many visitors as the Lodger's Academy or the Mercenary's Hideout, but it is a well known shop and reliable source.

Hats and Herts- This Cafe is owned by the Herts and has almost a million visitors a day. Plus, it's a hat shop.

Nuclear Warhead- There is a nuclear warhead under the city and it can blow anytime. The Gergas are the only people with access to it.

Now you can create locations up on your own, but these are some I created for you.

Factions

The Herts- The Herts are a huge company trying to take over New York City. They have about 1,000 hitmen and 500 bounty hunters. To put it short, they own pretty much everything and get their work done...fast and easy.

The Ferriers- They are badass. They also like explosions. These guys own some territory, but the Herts have way more. They use their explosions to wipe out any competition and their hitmen are usually large and tough superhumans.

The Gergas- These guys don't like to argue. If anyone messes with them, they try to settle it out by talking. If that doesn't work, they kill their victims quietly and quickly. They own many property around the city, probably more than the Ferriers. They don't like buzz.

The Gods- These guys don't like problems. If anyone messes with them, they surrender. Just our average weaklings.

The Ancients- They are a crazy religion that believe that six suns orbit a purple gas giant named Stereus. Stereus apparently burst a billion years now and is being recovered by the Six Suns. These guys thinks they're helping restore the energy back to Stereus.

The Rich- They used to be the leaders of New York until the rival between the companies stopped them. They are a bunch of elderly men and women. These are the only faction you CAN NOT join.

You may create your own, but you have to PM me first.

Timeline

2077: A nuclear warhead destroys parts of New York.

2266: Inhabitants of Vaults are let free.

2267: Vault inhabitants reach New York and the population thrives.

2269: The Rich, now known as The Vaults, take control of New York.

2276: Three companies are built and sell weapons.

2277: The companies stop producing weapons and focus on taking control of New York.

2278: After taking away the role of leaders from The Rich, the companies become rivals and fight.

2279: The Gergas find a nuclear warhead under the city and threaten its rivals. The rivals disregard the threat knowing if the city was blown up, The Gergas would have nothing to control.

2282: Many residents join forces with either one of the three companies.

Will do, Drop_Dead. Though if you're in 3 RPs, then you should quit the one you're really not interested in/don't post a lot in. Just a tip.

With all due respect, isn't this basically just New Manhattan with a few alterations? Don't get me wrong, I'm liking where you're going with this, but I believe it's in your best interest to maybe switch up the location of the RP in order to draw in new members, because if someone wants to join a RP akin to what you've created here, they're likely to hop on New Manhattan, because it's already established itself as, arguable, the greatest RP to ever grace our good forum.

Just a bit of friendly advice. Feel free to ignore if you so wish. I truly do wish you the best. Good luck! :D

Aww, I'm sorry Mexican.

If it makes you feel any better, all the writing of yours that I have seen is pretty good.

Heres a http://elijahhernandez.files.wordpress.com/2007/02/giant_cookie1.jpg for the great work.

Thanks for the cookie, but it always happens to me and I think I'm going to stop writing fan fiction.

Don't do that, your great at writing.

I think the root of your problem is that you rush yourself into posting, then when you do you the only part of the story that you thought out is the part you posted and nothing else.

Try starting the story in Word, and writing maybe the first 10 chapters. That way, you have most of the material planned out and your viewers don't have to wait so long for each additional chapter.

But if you are going to quit writing Fan Fiction, the least you can do is keep RPing and building your writing skills. Because, like I said before, your quite talented.
