Newb to OMM / WB use for installations

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:24 pm

I want to make sure my mod installation as a newb player/user is all ok.
I know about the simple WB Mod Checker button, but for OMM when I do the Conflict Detector
and get the long list with red text, green text, black, and click on some of the entries such as:

(red text) Arthur Natural Weather
Record Group (SCPT)
MSShadowscaleScript

and see in the right pane:

Overrides original entry in 'Oblivion.esm'
Conflicts with Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp

does this mean there is a conflict or just a note that it does if installed, like BOSS just notes it?

Do not use OBMM for conflict detection? It is one of the weakest features of OBMM. (Oblivion is usually abbreviated OB, when not using the TESIV or TES4 method, by the way.)

Try using BAIN, if you want conflict detection. :)

I am not interested in knowing how to make a mod, just a simple way to know that all is ok with what I have installed. From the webpage I found see BAIN is in WB already...?

After installing from step 1> on the Steam Oblivion forums sticky there, getting into the game I find my map is all screwed up somehow.

It is showing me somewhere else when I am at IC gates.

When I run WB with the mod checker, the webpage report shows no warnings.

I have no idea which mod to look for a correction to the map issue. Other things I don't know if they are mod related or not: visual gaps in the ground outside Bravin here and there...can't remember anything if at all right now...

There is no simple way to know. Even if a conflict detector detects conflicts, it cannot tell you which conflict matter. You have to learn how to distinguish between different types of conflicts yourself. BAIN is good for detecting data file conflicts, but you need to use TES4View/Edit for inter-plugin conflicts.

Please, post your load order - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=know_how_to#PostYourLoadOrder
List any mods you use that do not have plugins.
Please, post a screenshot of your map problem.
