Newbie Questions: Cooking-Chems-Settlers-Syringer

Post » Fri Feb 26, 2016 8:52 am

Hello y'all! I have now progressed to level 25 and have reached the need to figure out how to perform certain functions I have not needed (or felt important) until now. Hopefully someone knows the answers.

Q1. How to I get a settler to leave a "settlement" and go to another? Is this possible? I have one (1) at Bedford and would like her to go to either Sanctuary or Sunshine so that I can consolidate my settlements down to three (the other one is Abernathy).

Q2. I now have scavenged two (2) syringer guns. How do I make ammunition for it?

Q3. Since ammo for the syringer are chems, how do I make chems? I have no recipes for any chems and when I have opened the chem work station nothing is highlighted as doable even though I have dumped every component/item I have scavenged (including dirty and pure H2O, other chems, every plant I have run into that I could harvest, as well as acid, oil, adhesive, rat poison, etc etc etc etc) into its bottomless pit.

Q4. Speaking of recipes, I have Deathclaw, brahmin, mongrel, bloatfly, etc etc etc meats. How do I "roast" them/cook them so that I can use them without getting LeadBelly anti-rad perk to get their bonuses for combat? Opening the cook station again reveals nothing to me.

Once again, in advance, thanks to one and all for your patience and guidance. Once again this forum keeps frustration levels under control.

Good Hunting and Good Night! regards, RC

Q1: Highlight settler in workhop mode. There's a "move" command at the bottom of the screen ("x" button on Xbox1), this will call up a list of settlements. Greyed-out locations are at maximum population, you'll need to boost your charisma stat (or lower the population) to add more people.

Q2: Don't. That gun is useless. If you still really want to, use the chem station (caveat: see Q3).

Q3: You may require "science!" perks. Not sure, I'm a skills-over-buffs type so I don't know much about chems.

Q4: Check again. You should be able to make all kinds of wonderful wasteland delicacies (eg. Mirelurk Cakes).

Have fun, and Don't Die! And save often in case you do.

When you highlight a recipe when it is gray, it will show you which perks you need and at what level. If you aren't there yet, it'll have a lock on the upper right hand corner. If you are missing ingredients, the ones you need will be gray and there will be a command at the bottom of the screen that will let you tag the materials you need so items that break down into those mats are highlighted in the game world.
