Isn't it completely possible that he could have struck down two pedestrians in his haste to get his wife to the hospital?
Yes, but he didn't. You might not think that's an important distinction, but it is. Where, in the information made available, has it been said he was driving so incredibly dangerously? This seems like an assumption based on the relatively minor traffic violations, ie: the two red lights he ran. Was he even speeding? According to the arrest writ:
ASSAULT ON POLICE
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
REGISTRATION, EXPIRED
RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT
EVADING ARREST (FEL)
TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS VIOLATION
TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS VIOLATION
Shouldn't there be SPEEDING, RESISTING STOP, all this kind of other stuff, considering all the other trumped-up charges laid on him?
Show me the blatant disregard for human life, because I don't see it. Neither do any of us, since we were not there - as long as we're making assumptions, I would much rather assume that this trained medical professional, a combat veteran, knows a thing or two about responsibility and how to handle an emergency.
