Next DLC Announcement, Part II

Post » Thu Jun 03, 2010 8:57 am

By the way.

On NMA in the latest newsarticle Brother None posted this on the forum:

"The trademark filing has been accepted and is now "published for opposition" until April 19th. That has absolutely nothing to do with the DLC publishing date, it means that if someone wants to make a claim on already owning the mark or object on other grounds, he needs to do so before April 19th or the trademark becomes registered and can only be contested in court. Simplified, but you get the idea.

There's no way the next DLC is out April 19th and we've heard nothing of it officially yet. I have no idea what's keeping the DLC, honestly.

What was the "publish for opposition" for Dead Money.Maybe that will help figuring out a date for Honest Hearts...or not. :unsure2:

So if Dead Moneys anything to go by, then we can expect mid-may for Honest Hearts >_>

The way I see it, is the 3 DLCs, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road are so heavely intertwined, that they really can't finish one without finishing the others. So if and/or when the first of the trio of DLCs get released, the other should come out fairly quickly after. Say a month apart.

The big problem here is since its taken so long to even get news of the next DLC, many console players will have moved on to other games by the time any DLCs are released. Same holds true for PC user with one exception...mods. There are already a few high quality mods that add content and more land to the game. Some as good as any DLC thats been released. It's only a matter of time before some of these modders say "to hell with it" and start modding new area beyond the North Passage and west pass the Car Pileup area. There's already a mod for lands expanded pass the south gate of the Mojavie Outpost, but the author of the mod decided to hold off and see what the developers were going to do with this area.

If Obsidian takes too much more time releasing the planned DLCs, I can easly see people waiting until a GOTY edition of the game comes out to get the DLCs, (if they bother getting them at all)

Obsidian is developing it though, so maybe none of the DLC's are finished yet.

I do. Well, I don't care.

I'd rather play it earlier and deal with the bugs, than wait and still have to put up with the odd bug that got through the net

I just can't believe that after 4 months, all we know is that there is DLC coming soon. I've seen 1000's of people on the internet asking/wanting to hear some news/updates on any new DLC...and we all get "announcement in couple of weeks" or "more info soonish". It's pathetic man. 99% of the information that we DO know about the DLC, WE (the fans) only found that info out because of some files/graffiti hidden in the Dead Money pack. You would think living in an era with updated 24/7 news channels/webpages and billions of people worldwide being able to talk to each other effortlessly in seconds, that Bethesda would've at least gave us, somehow, more updated information then "we will kinda tell you guys (100 000's of loyal paying customers) some info soonish, couple of weeks maybe"....like as though the Bethesda PR team barely get outta bed or something.....Plus the fact that most games that I've bought within last month have been done a dusted within like 1 week....am eager for some new Fallout quests, companions, atmosphere, areas, weapons, perks or something....

Which again is the reiteration that your all wasting your time discussing this instead of something else or getting off the internet/out of the house.

All information relating to DLCs or developer profile hints have been around basically since the end of 2010/start of the year.

And new DLC is already confirmed by the fact that both Pete Hines on Twitter and GStaff have commented on information landing sometime.(Or in their words, "soon.")

Also I agree with Gabe. With the timeframe I feel this DLC piece will have quite a bit of quality content while skimping a bit on the bugs(But there'll always be some). I'm not a fan of how long it's taking but if the end result for my dollar is good, can't really complain.

To what can be assured. We'll probably get a preview piece sometime this month. Could be a launch in April but most likely early-mid May. Probably a DLC launch atleast before the release of Brink.

Another month is just too much. I'm not one of those who is like "I'm done with Obsidian and/or Bethesda this wait is ridiculous *RAGE*", but come on. Oh well. I do have New Vegas Bounties II to finish and that is similar in quality and larger than the DLCs. It's just that I want my official stuff.

Yeah I'll just have to stick with vanilla.

Foreign Filing Date for all of those dlc's is June 15, 2011, does that mean we aren't going to see a dlc before that or will we? :unsure2:

Yeah about 3 weeks ago they said "they will give some info about the next dlc soon"...
"Soon" in their books must mean a long ass [uncensored] time. Come on Bethesda/ Obsidian, at least give us some info or indication of when you are actually releasing this stuff

They said we'd get info "within the next couple of weeks", more than two weeks ago.

So they were lying.

Depending on Bethesda's defintion of "upcoming months", that could mean anytime between late April and the begining of next year. Skyrim is due out in late fall, (Nov/Dec), so I'd think they'd release the 3 DLCs before then. However the June date for copyright filing in Europe does make me think we won't see the DLCs until August or September. By that time, I'd guess alot of people will have moved on to other things. If the DLCs start coming out that late, I'd really think about skipping them and wait for a GOTY edition instead. One would think if they had planned on doing the DLCs right from the start, they'd have gotten the copyright filing done sooner.

At this rate a bunch of modders could probably have released Beta versions of the Divide, HH and probably a rendition of DM that had a more intricate ending.

After having played A World Of Pain and Bounty Hunters I fully agree.
