Next DLC announcement

Yeah, mothership zeta svcked...
On the bethesda blog, they said they'll be releasing three additional add-on packs in the coming months. So im guessing the first one is going to be released either mid march or sometime in April... hopefully. I really don't care which one comes first, im just hoping they raise the level cap again.
Do you guys know what the add-ons are going to be about? It would be cool if they did something with the simulation pods at the nelis air force base.

How would anybody know what there going to be about they havent said. And i do also hope it raises the lvl cap.

Mothership Zeta was horrible. You have a crappy story, crappy premise, crappy idea, and that makes a crappy DLC.

NO the idea was a very good 1 just they rushed thru it n didn't add much in the way of story or decision making.

I wonder what will the third DLC be about. There really isn't any mysteries left in the base game, assuming the Burned Man is in Honest Hearts and Ulysses in the last one.

Well what about Marilyn!? WHAT ABOUT MARILYN!!!! :swear:

I didn't hate Mothership Zeta, but i had no love for it either. It just felt so..lazy, it had some cool moments- but in the end it was 95% fighting, 1% character development, 1% coolness, 1% exploration, and 2% fighting. The idea was cool enough, but staying on a spaceship the whole time isn't my idea of fun, at least Anchorage let you explore a mini-world and didn't feel so 'cramped'. Point Lookout was great, and the Pitt was awesome (just short as crud) broken steel still takes the crown for me though.

I would like somthing that adds a land to explore, somthing open but gives you a sense of desperation. No longer would you be this 'ultra decked out' character who is unstoppable. Maybe the Boomers invite you on a ride in the B-29- only to have it crash on some remote island, or place with you being the only survivor. You have to collect food to survive, build shelter, and kill enemies and turn their body parts into weapons. Later to discover a tribe of cannibals out to get you, and maybe another survivor- a possible love interest who grows attached to the PC- only to be killed by the cannibals. This would add a sense of personal revenge to the whole thing.

Or maybe some sort of Western "themed" mission where you have to take control a a lawless town, bring order to it, and setup a government to deal with it's problems.

Some mission back in California, letting you visit/revisit old locations like HUB, and others to make the older fans happy while bringing the new fans up to date on the old games.

Join legion as a legitimate prospect, or as a undercover agent and raise to a high rank in the service of the new/ceasar.

Enlist in the enclave and rediscover the ugly underneath the good face.

Pursue a career in the brotherhood of steal,.

And of course, Area 51 that i have heard they are doing.

If the Big Empty is really an old-world facility full of high-tech goodies, I want that DLC ASAP. :D

I was kind of hoping for a DLC that featured "Area 51". I know what many of you are thinking, "Mothership Zeta part II? Oh hell no!"

But really, it's not like that. I know J.E. isn't too fond of some of the pop culture references of the past Fallouts, which is why you have to spend a trait to see them in the game, but when done right, I think Obsidian/Bethesda can really capture the whole 50's era sci-fi/alien/paranoia vibe rather well and make a decent story of it.

I think we saw in MZ how well Bethesda can capture the whole 50's era sci-fi/alien/paranoia vibe. And besides, aliens don't fit in Fallout.

You know, regardless of how well the plotline was executed, MZ really does capture that vibe quite well; the ray guns, the general feel of the ship, the interrogation tapes and bizarre experimentation tables, etc.

Plot could've used a lot of work, but the aesthetics were spot-on.

MZ? God, I hope not. But I'm pretty sure that Honest Hearts is next, based on hints in the game files.

I would love to see a DLC where you discover an old Enclave base/bunker and you have the option to rebuild the enclave for the legion or assist the NCR in destroying the base and the remnants across the area. In rebuilding the enclave, you can set across the region looking for vertibirds and their parts, finding mechanics, recruiting soldiers, and reestablishing the enclave's presence in the area by defeating the NCR and the BOS. Perhaps you are given the main quests by an enclave remnant, who ultimately wants to restore the Enclave's power in the region, but not necessarily its goals such as President Richardson's plan. Whenever the ending comes, you can choose to kill the remnant and give the base and its assets to whomever, or side with the remnant and make the enclave a major faction. Perhaps this dlc will be set in the Grand Canyon, Salt Lake City, Sacramento, Albuquerque, Utah, Colorado, or in Oregon. I mean, I have read things on the fallout wikia that Bethesda may release three more dlc on top of the 4 dlc already confirmed! Maybe it could be a two part dlc where Part I you establish the base and Part 2 You destory the base or use the base's assets to destroy the Brotherhood of Steel. I really like that Area 51 idea, though, that would be a cool dlc.

that sounds cool but theres hardly any enclave at all and it would take forever to rebuild it.

I honestly thought that Old World Blues will be the next one, it all seems reasonable to leave the Burned man and Ulysses til last.

In the words of M. Night Shamalon: "What if the Caesars Legion are the good guys and they carry around silver machetes so they can kill the NCR who are really an army of military werewolves"

"What if the NCR and Caesars Legion are battling it out on Hoover Dam, but then the BOS attacks with an army of robotic squids. Then the PC dies only to find himself in tranquility lane except it isn't being run by Van Braun its being run by your father, except its not really your father its President John Henry Eden but he's being controlled by the leader of the Great Khans who is really the reincarnation of the Master."

Should be Mothership Epsilon.

I do however wonder when does Mothership Zeta become the worst DLC for FO3, seeing back in release there was a huge media and non-dinosaur fans hype about it.
