Would love it but, I really doubt it'd happen sadly.

I have nothing against it, but it's all down to the corporations and what the guys at the top want happening.

There is so much interfacing built into the next gens, basically connections to everything you have, that a malicious mod could really ruin your day, and system, and bank account, etc. I just don't see how the consoles could protect anyone from themselves.

Um there's always a possibility, also using the whole "malicious mod" is a bit of irrelevant when or if there's ever console mods it has to be approved by both Bethesda and Sony/MS before it's published much like the patches.

I think interface wise PS4 and Xbox One are the closes to PC's and entirely possible for mods it's just how exactly will gamers create the mods? I mean PC gamers has the Creation Kit for the PC version what exactly is the kit used for the console side? That's really the question here.

Just like last gen, it'll be possible but not sanctioned by Bethesda, Microsoft, or Sony.\

CK's are possible on console too. Just the controls are different, just like the game. I know of a couple titles that allowed user-made content with a CK (though it wasn't called a Creation Kit)

Right, and how long does it take for them to get just one patch to us after all those checks? Imagine doing that for every mod on the Nexus. Never going to happen.

Mods will never happen on consoles ever because Microsoft and SONY don't want to risk the security risks that come with mods on the PC versions of video games on PC. It can destroy your video game, cause viruses, etc also Microsoft and SONY don't want stuff like that for free they want to charge you for DLC's.

Also some modders constantly update their mods, some modders abandon their mods and never bother to fix them if there are problems, and some mods require a lot of work to get them installed and programs like SKSE, etc.

The only type of mod you can realistically get on the consoles is something like the Forge mod tool for Halo on the Xbox 360 which only has vanilla assets you cannot create your own custom graphical mods, meshes, models, skins, textures, total conversion mods, programs, scripts all of that good stuff.
